Bio
I am an experienced freelance translator, sworn Dutch-English interpreter and editor living in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I translate from Dutch, Spanish and French into English, and occasionally in other combinations. I am also experienced in proofreading both British English and US English, and adapting to the author's individual style and idiom.
I am fluent in Dutch, both written and spoken, and my comprehension in Spanish and French is excellent. In 2016 I completed a pre-Master year at Leiden University, taught in Dutch, and in 2017 I graduated from Leiden University with a Master's degree in Latin American Studies, for which I wrote my thesis in Spanish. I did the fieldwork for my thesis in Lima, Peru, where I interviewed a range of experts in the field of access to drinking water in that desert city.
I also hold the CELTA qualification to teach English as a second language. I am experienced in teaching adults at all levels, although I find teaching upper intermediate and advanced students most rewarding. I teach both General and Business English courses, and I have helped to prepare students for Cambridge examinations such as IELTS.
