I am a Norwegian-American who lived in many states in the U.S., twice in Norway, and three months in southern France, after which I came to Brazil to teach English through a professional exchange program at the age of 23.
I began translating in 1980, from Portuguese to English, after having lived in Brazil for three years. I have been living in Brazil most of the time since 1977.
As a translator, my first projects were abstracts, theses, and dissertations in various academic areas. Since then, I have been translating from time to time, for local agencies and freelance, projects of all sorts, but now that I have retired from working as an educator in academic settings, I have decided to dedicate myself entirely to working with what I truly enjoy doing as a professional - translating. |
