Source text - Arabic Holmes goes on to discuss what Jirı´ Levy ´ called the translator’s ‘decision process’: how the translator seeks correspondences between the different features, forms, and functions in the two different languages (see also Sect. 4.8, above, on Levy). The translator may be compelled to abandon certain qualities of the source text,while highlighting others.Thus, ‘the translator, whether or not he is conscious of it, establishes a hierarchy of correspondences’ (p. 86)
