Programos sandara atitinka pirmosios pakopos programoms keliamus reikalavimus (Lietuvos Respublikos Švietimo ir mokslo ministro 2010-04-09 įsak. Nr.

Translation - English Top 10 Tips to Get You Acquainted with the Exotic Oman
Frankly, not that much is known about Oman. It’s neither a tourist mecca, nor a business hub. However, this Arab land is becoming more and more open to tourism. To those intent on visiting this exotic desert country, Travel on Spot offers some advice on how to behave while traveling in Oman.
*Don’t even try visiting this country’s mosques – non-Muslims are prohibited from entering. The Quaboos Mosque in Muscat is the only exception to this rule.
*Even though Arab clothing can be bought in any of Oman’s shopping centres, the locals are not too keen on foreigners wearing their national garb. It would be best if you wore clothes that are European, yet fairly modest: no sleeveless shirts for women.
*Alcohol is sold in most hotels and restaurants, and has to be consumed on site – taking it outside is not allowed. Drinking alcoholic beverages on the street is considered a serious offence and is punished quite severely.
*It is forbidden to take any corals or shells to the surface while diving along the country’s coastline (Oman is known for its excellent coral reefs).
*Photography enthusiasts would be best advised to resist the urge to take pictures of everything they see – photographing military objects, airports and the interiors of mosques can get you in some serious trouble.
*The best time to visit Oman for Europeans is between April and September – the rest of the year is almost unbearably hot.
*While in Oman, we recommend you try some traditional dishes made from seafood, especially those involving shark meat. In terms of sweets, you should probably go with Oriental halva and dates. Just try not to hold food with your left hand – that is not acceptable here.
*Coffee – usually very strong and fragrant – is Oman’s traditional drink. Be careful, though, as it may raise your heartrate quite significantly. To let your hospitable hosts know you don’t want any more coffee, rotate the mug left to right a couple of times.
*Since 2002, Oman is home to a perfume factory Amouage, which manufactures the most expensive perfume in the world. The best place to buy some is at a duty-free shop in Muscat’s airport right before the flight.
*Omani men often carry with them a short, wide and artfully-decorated dagger, called khanjar. If you want to bring one home as a souvenir, make sure to leave it with the luggage department and keep the purchase certificate on you at all times.
