Following the brief administration of Lamberto Dini (January 1995 to May
1996), Romano Prodi became Prime Minister. His government was supported by the
heterogenous Ulivo (Olive tree) centre-left coalition that included the PDS, PPI,
Rinnovamento Italiano (RI), Unione Democratica (UD), Verdi (the Greens) and
Italian Socialists (SI). Prodi was more inclined towards an internationalist agenda of
active multilateralism. In Prodi’s view, Italy’s credentials as a reliable European
partner had to be immediately re-fashioned. He specifically tied his political destiny
to Italy’s entry into EMU and made this a vital matter of Italian national interest. In
fact, this foreign policy priority was sold to domestic public opinion in terms of
‘joining Europe’ or ‘bringing Italy into Europe’ (Quaglia and Radaelli 2007, p. 929).
Consequently, the top priority of the Prodi government became reform of public
expenditure and a reduction of Italy’s public debt in an effort to enter EMU by the

In its international dealings, the (Greek) Cypriot government speaks for the whole of Cyprus including the north, even though it exercises no control over it. The EU has always accepted this and dealt with the authorities in Nicosia as representing the whole territory of the island. The Turkish
Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is recognized only by Turkey. The European Court's July 1994 decision, whereby agricultural products from
the TRNC were not to be allowed into the EU unless accompanied by the proper phytosanitary certificates issued by the competent Cypriot
authorities,12 effectively makes the solution of the 'Cyprus problem' an internal Cypriot issue.

Ένα νησί γνωστό σε χώρες όπως η Αυστραλία, η Ιταλία, η Αυστρία, η Αμερική, η Αγγλία, η Γαλλία, η Σουηδία, η Γερμανία για τη βραδινή διασκέδαση που απολαμβάνουν οι επισκέπτες , αλλά και γεμάτο με τα ίχνη της μακραίωνης ιστορίας του. Με χρυσαφένιες αμμουδιές και παραλίες πολυσύχναστες ή πιο ερημικές και γαλήνιες. Με την κυκλαδίτικη και αμφιθεατρικά κτισμένη Χώρα του που βρίσκεται στο σημείο όπου υπήρχε η αρχαία πόλη. Με πολλές εκκλησίες και δυο μοναστήρια όπου οργανώνονται περίφημα πανηγύρια. Ios est une île magnifique qui possède plusieurs visages. Il s’agit d’une île bien connue pour sa vie nocturne dans de nombreux pays, comme l'Australie, l’Italie, l'Autriche, les États-Unis, l’Angleterre, la France, la Suède, l’Allemagne, et dont les origines se perdent dans la nuit des temps. On y trouve des plages dorées, fréquentées ou plus tranquilles et calmes. Le village de Chora, typique exemple de l'architecture cycladique, est construit comme un amphithéâtre sur le site de la ville ancienne. On y trouve aussi beaucoup d’églises et deux monastères connus pour leurs kermesses. De nombreux sentiers mènent en des lieux oniriques, au fort byzantin de Palaiokastro, à la colonie médiévale d’Agia Theodoti et au site archéologique très important de Skarkos. On peut profiter des 87 kilomètres de côtes en naviguant autour de l'île avec un yacht ou des bateaux touristiques. Bio
My academic and professional experience in six different countries allows me to work with people from different backgrounds quite readily, to understand their point of view and to coordinate team work easily. My previous work at the European Parliament and the United Nations Regional Information Centre (UNRIC) gave me comprehensive insights into how international organizations work and equipped me with the highest professional standards.
A slick communicator in almost every cornerstone EU language, I consider multilingualism my strongest asset. Furthermore, I was the only trainee translator in the European Parliament who was able to translate from four languages, which led to my traineeship contract being extended.
With a background in law, I worked as legal assistant, assigned with administrative tasks in and out of the office, and I served my military service in a Military Court, where I was tasked mainly with handling confidential information. Hence, having worked in a busy law office and also among high ranked army officers, while successfully completing my studies, I am at ease with multitasking, working under pressure and paying attention to detail.
In 2013, I served as president of the organizing committee of an international student conference (SimUnesCO) held by the Ionian University for the first time. Thanks to my leadership and organizational skills and through intense team work, 110 participants from Greece and the Balkans were granted boarding and worked under excellent conditions. Following the success of that year, the conference continues to be held annually. As a student I also participated in several international conferences and I received two awards for my team-working abilities.
My present tasks as a volunteer at the UNRIC require communication skills. In addition to filtering and promoting relevant information to the press, I take part in information campaigns, manage the Facebook page and I recently spearheaded negotiations for a contract with SDL Trados. My other volunteering experience includes teaching Italian in Serbia and Greek at the European Parliament. In both cases, due to a paucity of resources, I took it upon myself to create my own didactic materials and utilized interactive teaching methods, thereby boosting my abilities to think creatively.
I also consider myself highly digitally literate. I have been using all versions of MS Office throughout my academic and professional career and thanks to my translation experience I am quite efficient with CAT tools. Moreover, I manage the Greek version of the UNRIC site using Joomla and I used to run my own blog using WordPress.
