Dieser Clip ergreift die Segel der Mitralklappe und nähert diese aneinander an, wodurch eine stabile Annäherung der Klappensegel während des gesamten Herzzyklus erreicht wird. Das MitraClip- Implantat wird positioniert, ohne dass ein Herzstillstand herbeigeführt werden muss bzw. der Anschluss an eine Herz-Lungen-Maschine erforderlich ist. Das Implantat wird mit Metalllegierungen und Polyestergewebe (Clip-Überzug) hergestellt, die gewöhnlich in kardiovaskulären Implantaten Anwendung finden.
Translation - French Le Mitraclip est une sorte d’agrafe implantable mécaniquement par voie percutanée (à travers la peau). Cette agrafe attrape les deux feuillets de la valve mitrale et les rapproche l’un de l’autre, ce qui permet une convergence stable des feuillets de la valve au cours du cycle cardiaque. La mise en place du Mitraclip ne nécessite pas un arrêt cardiaque ni un raccordement à un cœur-poumon artificiel. Le clip est fait d’alliages métalliques et d’un voile polyester (revêtement), présents dans d’autres implants cardiovasculaires.
