Source text - Urdu ڈاکٹر محمد شکیل اوج مجھے پہلی بار ایک ٹی وی چینل پر نظر آئے تو ان کی باتیں خوش کن تھیں۔ اس معاشرے میں برداشت اور رواداری کی باتیں ویسے ہی کم ہوئی جاتی ہیں، ایسے میں ان گفتگو بھلی لگی۔جمعرات کو فائرنگ کے ایک واقعے میں جب جامعہ کراچی کے شعبۂ اسلامی تعلیمات کے اس سربراہ کی ہلاکت کی خبر ملی تو یہ جاننے کی خواہش ہوئی کہ ان کا ’جرم‘ کیا تھا

نجی ٹی وی چینل کے میزبان انیق احمد کے مطابق ڈاکٹر اوج ایک سلجھی ہوئی اور شگفتہ مزاج شخصیت کے حامل تھے۔ ان کا حلقۂ اثر، حلقہ احباب بہت بڑا تھا اور تخلیقی سوچ رکھنے والے ڈاکٹر شکیل ہمیشہ ایک کرید، ایک علمی جستجو میں رہتے تھے۔ اسی جستجو کا نتیجہ ان کے لاتعداد مقالے، مضامین اور تحریریں ہیں جو اخبارات و رسائل کی زینت بن چکے ہیں۔ڈاکٹر اوج لگ بھگ 15 کتابوں کے مصنف بھی تھے۔ وہ علومِ تفسیر قرآن میں تحقیق و تصنیف کے حوالے سے معروف تھے اور قرآن کے آٹھ اردو تراجم کے تقابل پر سنہ 2000 میں ڈاکٹریٹ کی ڈگری حاصل کی تھی۔
کالم نگار خورشید ندیم ڈاکٹر اوج کے دوستوں میں سے ہیں۔ ان کا کہنا ہے کہ ’ڈاکٹر اوج کی سوچ اور فکر میں ارتقا تھا۔وہ اپنی علمی زندگی میں بڑے تنوع سے گزرے۔ وہ بنیادی طور پر ایک روایتی مذہبی عالم تھے اور انھوں نے قرآن پر براہ راست غور و فکر کرتے ہوئے اپنے کچھ نتائج فکر مرتب کیے تھے۔‘
Translation - English I saw Dr. Muhammad Shakeel for the first time on a TV Channel and his conversation was adorable. In this society discussion regarding endurance and tolerance are on decline, meanwhile his conversation was praiseworthy / good.

According to a private channel host Aneeq Ahmad Dr. Auj was a learned and soft hearted personality. His sphere and circle was too large and creative minded Dr. Shakeel was always sorted and lived in a quest for knowledge.
The result of this quest is his numerous articles, essays, and articles in newspapers and magazines, which have become adorn. Dr. Shakeel was also author of nearly 15 books. He was well known for his studies in research and authorship of the Holy Quran and he gained a Doctorate degree in comparing the eight urdu translated versions of the Holy Quran in year 2000.
Columnist Khurshid Nadeem is among the friends of Dr. Shakeel.
He says that there was an evolution in Dr. Shakeel thinking. He went through many diversities during his learning life. He was basically a traditional religious scholar and derived directly from Quran and compiled his results.

My employer (NADRA) is working with UNHCR (UN Refugee Agency) as implementation partner in various projects for the registration of Afghan Refugees and maintain the database. NADRA is issuing POR Cards (Proof of Registration) to Afghan refugees. For the purpose of registration we are dealing with people of diversified nature and being public office we have a large influx of the clients/implementation partners on a daily basis with different languages (i.e. Pashto, Urdu, Dari and English). As a result, it nourished my translation/interpretation skills.
I am also attached with monthly pashto magazine “Pakhtoonkhwa” published from Mardan City, Pakistan.
