Translation - English The solid phase extraction is currently the most used technique for liquid samples, such as arrays of surface waters and effluents. The solvent materials used depend on the characteristics of acidity of the analyzed compounds. For human and animal antibiotics, antifungal and antiparasitics drugs, the most used solvent materials are solvent cartridges divinylbenzene and N-vinylpyrrolidone copolymer that, due to its characteristics of mixed hydrophilic-lipophilic interaction, can extract analytes of medium polarity, presenting the best percentiles for recovery. For the extraction of more basic analytes as drugs of psychiatric use (e.g., fluoxetine, sertraline, etc.) and β-blockers (e.g., propranolol, metoprolol, etc.) solvents made of divinylbenzene and N-vinylpyrrolidone copolymer can be used with sulfonate groups for the cation exchange. For analytes with acidic characteristics, as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., diclofenac, naproxen, etc.) solvents with dimethylbutylamine groups, able to make the anion exchange or based on modified silica with C18 can be used.

Bio
My name is Vitoria Fernandes, I am a Brazilian Portuguese native speaker. I have a bachelor degree in Biology and Environmental Sciences from the Federal University of Pernambuco (Brazil), but I also had a year studying abroad at Trent University (Canada) where I was contemplated with the Science Without Borders Scholarship. I have been working as a translator since 2012, I started translating short articles and web content, but my area of expertise is science, specially biology and environmental sciences due to my degree. I also have vast experience translating IT content and more recently started working in more technical projects.
