The Westphalia South Transport Community (Verkehrsgemeinschaft Westfalen Süd, VGWS) with environmentally friendly buses and trains organizes public transport in Westphalia-South. The entire area of the VGWS-territory includes Siegen-Wittgenstein and Olpe as well as neighbouring area with different tariffs.
Buying ticket /
Always buy a ticket before boarding! /
You can use the buses and trains of all transport companies in this territory with the tickets of VGWS.
For a trip from the starting point to the final destination, you always need a VGWS- ticket per person or a ticket for 5 persons. Children below 6 years of age travel free of cost in the VGWS territory!
Important:
Ticket with print “ONLY VALID WITH VALIDATION IMPRINT” must be validated before departure. Please stamp your ticket by inserting it in the punching machine as shown in the picture. You will hear a signal once it has been stamped. Without a valid ticket the trip is deemed not paid and during a check you have to pay an additional penalty of at least EUR 60.
In our service and sales outlets, we help you personally when buying a ticket.
You can find automatic ticket machines with voice instruction in multiple languages at all stations. You can buy tickets even from the bus driver. Please always get in at the front in the bus for the same. (Instructions about our ticket are given on the back side)
