Source text - Dutch Dynamiek en drijvende krachten
Samen werken we sinds 2007 aan verschillende ruimtelijke opgaven, waarin de sociaal-economische dynamiek van een gebied voor ons een belangrijke rol speelt. In de wijk, buurt of het buitengebied gaan we op zoek naar de lokale dynamiek, de drijvende krachten die voort komen uit het ondernemerschap, de gebruiken en culturen die in de loop van de geschiedenis zijn ontstaan.
Deze manier van werken past volgens ons in een tijd waarin overheden zich terugtrekken, steeds minder dicteert en investeert. Het initiatief en verantwoordelijkheid wordt steeds meer neerlegt bij lokale partijen. Dit vraagt om een betrokkenheid en bemiddeling van de stedenbouwkundig ontwerper. De grote lange termijn opgaven zoals water, natuurontwikkeling en krimp blijven echter ook bestaan. Deze opgaven van de lange termijn en lokale initiatieven en plannen worden in onze projecten aan elkaar gekoppeld. Om samen te werken met lokale partijen en de koppeling te maken met de grote, lange termijn opgaven, is het belangrijk om partijen goed te leren kennen. Dit betekent dat je bereid moet zijn je te verdiepen in de doelgroep en gebruikers en kennisneemt over hun bedrijfsvoering, gebruiken en toekomstplannen. Door de drijvende krachten in een omgeving te leren kennen, ontstaat inzicht en begrip voor de mate waarin het initiatief gaat bijdragen aan collectieve, publieke of sociaal-culturele waarden.
Voor deze portfolio laten we aantal opgaven zien waar we de afgelopen jaren aan hebben gewerkt, opgaven die volgens ons urgent zijn en onderdeel vormen van ons vakgebied. Met Nieuw Landschap houden we ons bezig met de transformatie in het landelijk gebied. In tijden van economische crisis is de agrarische sector een stabiele factor. Het gaat om nieuwe productielandschappen die ruimte bieden voor lokaal initiatief, maar ook perspectief en belevingswaarde voor de lange termijn. Het tweede thema is (mega)projecten in revisie. Grootschalige ontwikkellocaties in Nederland zijn toe aan een herziening. Het gaat om een herstructureringsopgave, waarin alternatieve plannen gemaakt worden op het moment dat de oude planning niet meer werkt. Het derde thema is deltadynamiek, waarin kansen zijn verkend en getekend voor de Nederlandse Delta om het getij meer beleefbaar te maken. Dit getij in de rivieren is op vele plaatsen groot en liggen er kansen om de koppeling te maken met toekomstige woon- en werkmilieus.
Translation - English Dynamic and driving forces
Since 2007 we have worked together on different spatial tasks, in which the socio-economic dynamics of an area have played a major role. In a district, neighbourhood or outlying areas we go looking for the local dynamics, the driving forces that come from the entrepreneurship, customs and cultures that have developed in the course of the history.
This way of working functions well in a time where the government withdraws investment and governs even less. The initiatives and responsibilities are increasingly undertaken by local parties. This calls for a greater involvement and mediation by the urban designer. However the large long-term challenges such as water, ecological development and evapotranspiration still remain. These long-term challenges and local initiatives are linked together in our projects. To work with local parties and make the link with their large, long-term challenges, it is important to get to know them well. This means that you must be prepared to immerse yourself in the target group and fully understand their business models, uses and future plans. By interpreting the driving forces in an environment we can gain a better insight to how the initiative will contribute to collective, public , social and cultural values.
For this portfolio we have compiled a number of projects from the past few years; projects which, according to us, are urgent and form part of our expertise. With New Landscape we are concerned with transformation in the rural area. In times of economic crisis the agricultural sector is a stable factor. The new production landscape offers scope for local initiative, but also for the long-term perspective and sustainability. The second theme is (mega)projects in revision. Large-scale development sites in The Netherlands are being revised. It is a restructuring task, where alternative plans are made when the old plans don’t work anymore. The third theme is deltadynamiek, where opportunities are explored and illustrated to make the tide more perceived in the Dutch Delta. In many places these river tides are enormous and could create opportunities to develop future living and working environments.
