Translation - English Alongside highways, Turkey has a well-developed railway network. Airlines provide both local flights and trips abroad. The main and busiest airports are located in Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Izmir and Adana. Popular means of transportation include taxis and minibuses that can even take passengers up to the mountains. Usual taxi pay rate is approximately 0.62 Eur per 1 kilometre, while 1 litre of gasoline costs 1.41 Eur.
The currency in Turkey is the Second Turkish Lira (TRY). Turkey living standards are somewhat lower those in Lithuania. Purchasing 1.5 litre of water costs roughly 0.64 Eur in Turkish shops, 12 eggs cost 1.71 Eur, and a kilo of rice normally costs 1.56 Eur. Traditional Turkish kebab will cost between 4 and 6 liras, or 1.24-1.85 Eur, depending on the kind of meat that makes up the dish.

By now, he was far better at being 'difficult to read', a fact that annoyed Alex to no end.
Simon sighed loudly, and Alex jumped. He jumped and his head whipped around, and now it took an immense effort keeping the vacant mask on. Alex never jumped.
"What is it?" Simon asked.
"What are you doing here?" Alex asked back, annoyance already creeping into tone and face.
"I live here."
Alex sat up, looking him over; Simon knew he had to think quickly.
"Tea?" He asked, raising his cup.
Alex's eyes narrowed.
"I would appreciate it if you stopped sleeping on my laptop," Simon continued.
"Then why didn't you just take it?" Alex hissed.
Good, Simon thought, Keep going.
Translation - Lithuanian Aleksas tyliai sudejavo ir iki pat galo ištiesė kojas. Saimonas pasijuto įsitempiąs ir iškart pasistengė atpalaiduoti kūną, ypač veidą, melsdamasis, kad šis neišduotų jo minčių. Dabar Saimonui jau kur kas geriau sekdavosi išlikti „sunkiai įskaitomu“, kas siaubingai erzindavo Aleksą.
Saimonas garsiai atsiduso ir Aleksas krūptelėjo. O krūptelėjęs atsisuko – dabar išlaikyti neutralią kaukę tapo itin sunku. Aleksas niekada nekrūpčiojo.
– Kas yra? — paklausė Saimonas.
– Ką tu čia veiki? — klausimu atsakė Aleksas, susierzinimui iškart tvyrant jo balse ir veide.
– Aš čia gyvenu.
Aleksas atsisėdo atidžiai į jį žiūrėdamas; Saimonas suprato, kad turi galvoti greitai.
– Arbatos? —paklausė jis, kilsteldamas savo puodelį.
Aleksas primerkė akis.
– Būčiau dėkingas, jei nustotum miegoti ant mano kompiuterio, – tęsė Saimonas.
– Tuomet kodėl jo nepasiėmei? — sušnypštė Aleksas.

Обычно обувь снимают при помощи рук или ног, при этом увлажняются и загрязняются руки или носки, впоследствии загрязняются предметы обихода, полы помещений, обувь изнутри, т.е. человек становится разносчиком и разводчиком всякой грязи (вирусы, микробы, бактерий…).
Люди после переобувания и до мытья рук успевают разнести своими загрязненными руками грязь по предметам и одеждам. После загрязненными носками люди ходят на кухне, в ванной, во всех помещениях, по всем коврам. Перед сном, после принятых водных процедур, вымытыми слегка влажными ногами собирают с напольных покрытий всю эту заразу и несут уже в постель на простыню.
Translation - English In order to better understand the need for such devices, it is recommended to try removing shoes after putting on white socks and gloves. Dirt on a white background will become instantly noticeable with a naked eye, and the necessity to use these devices will become apparent. Usually, shoes are taken off using hands or feet, which makes them and the socks wet and dirty. Subsequently, that dirt will travel onto various objects nearby, room floors, inner sides of the shoes, and so on. This way, a person will become a spreader of all kinds of dirt and grime (emanating viruses, germs, bacteria, etc.).
After pulling off shoes and before hand-washing, people manage to transfer grime from their dirty hands onto nearby objects and clothing items. Afterwards, people will go into the kitchen, bathroom or any other rooms, stepping onto carpets while still wearing dirty socks.
Then, before going to bed and after washing up, the same people will walk from the bathroom on bare, slightly wet feet and will subsequently gather all the previously spread dirt and germs from the floor, bringing it all directly to bedroom and onto the bed sheets.

- Ты права. Во всем виноват я. Я не стал известным, не стал богатым. Я обещал тебе купить дом, сделать твою жизнь веселой и беззаботной. Поверь, я очень хотел этого. Я старался. Но у меня ничего не получилось. Я потерпел неудачу. Мне очень жаль. Мне очень обидно.
- Для меня это уже не имеет никакого значения. Извини, мне пора.

“You’re right. It’s my fault, for everything. I didn’t get famous, or rich. I promised you to buy a house, to make your life happy and carefree. Believe me, I wanted this very much. I tried. But it didn’t work out for me. I was unsuccessful. I’m very sorry. It’s such a pity.”
“It doesn’t matter to me anymore. Sorry, I have to go.”
“Goodbye. I wish you lots of luck and happiness. I know you’ll be alright. Somebody else will buy you a house, and you will give birth to his beautiful, healthy babies. Goodbye.”

I am a native Lithuanian speaker and a post-graduate bachelor of Lithuanian philology. I'm highly fluent in both English and Russian. I have freelance translation experience of almost three years. I also take on subtitling and audio/video-to-text transcription projects.
I enjoy the difficulties translation offers, as they help me grow as a linguist and language user. I always seek perfection in everything I do, be it a small-time job or a big project.
