Growing up Frisian in the Netherlands, I've always been extremely receptive to languages and dialects, and have been exposed to at least four since early infancy. After an attempt to follow my parents in the medical profession, I decided to use my talent for languages and study English, with a strong focus on the development of and connection with the other Germanic languages.

My enthusiasm for languages has prompted me to work as an English language teacher in secondary schools, and take up freelancing as a translator and corrector on the side.
