As a former financial executive who lived and worked in Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Argentina, I now specialize in only one area: PORTUGUESE FINANCIAL TRANSLATION.
I am new to Proz.com, currently working through local translation agencies and referrals, so please feel free to ask for references.
TRANSLATION EXPERIENCE
Unofficially, I have translating during my entire finance career while working in foreign countries (see "business experience" below), and for the last three years have been translating as a profession. I am a staff translator for UWM Language Services, and work with a local translations company, but most of my work comes through referrals. I perform translation and interpretation.
I am a native speaker of English and fully fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. Last year I was an Associate Lecturer in Portuguese at UWM, and this year I am continuing my MA in translation.
BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
My corporate experience in finance was specialized in the areas of acquisitions, as Manager of Business Development for the Latin America region of Philip Morris/Kraft Foods, and capital expenditure projects in manufacturing, as Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development for Kraft Foods in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Prior my corporate career, I was as an investment banker at Bankers Trust New York (now part of Deutsche Bank), with an overseas assignment as a Financial Analyst in Santiago, Chile, and a management consultant with Price Waterhouse.
EDUCATION
I hold a BS, cum laude, in Business Administration from Georgetown University in Washington, DC and the Universidad Católica de Córdoba in Argentina. I have completed financial analyst training programs in New York and London with Bankers Trust.
I am currently completing an MA in translation at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
PERSONAL
Originally from Los Angeles, California, I have lived in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and Chile, and currently divide time between homes in Milwaukee, Miami, and Itacaré, Brazil. |
