The biggest problem facing our democracy today is that no one in government can or wants to hear the common man's basic needs. This is the situation in the whole of our country. People need basic amenities and the government provides something else. Decisions affecting millions of common Indians are taken by a few select leaders of the ruling party in Parliament. Democracy has become a slave of the leader of the ruling-party.

We believe that good governance happens when people have the power to influence decisions that shape their life. This is a major change that India needs badly. No present day party will usher in this systemic change. For this very reason, our anti corruption movement has been forced to enter politics.		Translation - Hindi
आज हमारे लोकतन्त्र की सबसे बड़ी समस्या यह है कि सरकार में कोई भी आम आदमी की बुनियादी जरूरतों को न तो सुनता है और न ही सुनना चाहता है। हमारे पूरे देश की यही स्थिति है। लोगों को बुनियादी सुविधाओं की आवश्यकता होती है, परन्तु सरकार उन्हें कुछ और ही प्रदान करने लगती है। लाखों आम भारतीयों को प्रभावित करने वाले निर्णय संसद में सत्तारूढ़ पार्टी के कुछ चुनिन्दा नेताओं द्वारा ले लिये जाते हैं। लोकतन्त्र सत्तारूढ़ दल के नेता का एक गुलाम बन कर रह गया है।

हम मानते हैं कि एक अच्छा लोकतन्त्र वो होता है जहाँ आम आदमी के पास उन निर्णयों को प्रभावित करने की शक्ति हो जो उनके जीवन को एक आकार देते हैं। यह एक बड़ा परिवर्तन है जिसकी भारत को बहुत बुरी तरह से आवश्यकता है। वर्तमान में कोई भी राजनैतिक दल इस व्यवस्था परिवर्तन का अगुआ नहीं बनेगा। इसी कारण से हमारे भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी आन्दोलन को राजनीति में प्रवेश करने के लिए मजबूर होना पड़ा।
