English to Spanish: Further increase in youth joblessness/Nuevo aumento del desempleo juvenil

The number of young people not in education, employment or training has risen to a record high of
1.16m, official figures show
Almost one in five 16- to 24-year-olds in England were "Neet" between July and September this year, according to statistics published by the Department for Education. The figure has risen by 137,000 compared with the same period last year. The figures also show that just over 21% of 18- to 24-yearolds are not in education, work or training.
Official figures published last week show there were 1.02 million unemployed 16- to 24-year-olds in the UK between July and September this year, also a record.
The Department for Education said:
"The number of young people not in education, employment or training has been too high for too long – we are determined to bring the numbers down.
We know that many young people move between school, college, university and work during the summer, which explains why Neet figures are higher during this quarter. But we will not be complacent and are taking action now to address this issue.
We know that attainment at age 16 is the most important factor in later participation in the labour market and our ambitious school reforms will help to prepare young people for success. Disadvantaged young people are more likely to become Neet and our plans will help raise the outcomes of this group by targeting funding where it is most needed."
According to the Institute for Public Policy Research thinktank, the last year has recorded the biggest increase in Neet figures since 2000.
Nick Pearce, IPPR director, said:
"Compared with the same period last year, there are now 137,000 more 16- to 24-year-olds out of both work and training, representing a rise of more than 13%. It's now imperative that the government acts to tackle youth unemployment.
The government should ensure that all young people who have been out of work for more than a year are guaranteed a job at the minimum wage to ensure they do not lose touch with the jobs market."

Las cifras oficiales muestran que el número de jóvenes que no estudian, trabajan o reciben formación de formación ha aumentado hasta alcanzar un nuevo record: 1,16 millones.
Según las estadísticas publicadas por el Departamento de Educación del Reino unido, casi un quinto de los jóvenes entre 16 y 24 años en Inglaterra vivieron como ninis entre los meses de julio y septiembre de este año. Las estadísticas también muestran que más del 21% de los jóvenes de entre 18 y 24 años se encuentran desocupados.

Los logros conseguidos con 16 años son el factor más importante de cara una participación posterior en el mercado laboral y nuestras ambiciosas reformas escolares ayudarán a preparar a la gente joven para el éxito. Los jóvenes desfavorecidos tienen mayor probabilidad de convertirse en ninis y nuestros planes ayudarán a mejorar los resultados de este grupo mediante destinando financiación donde más se necesiten».
Según el grupo de expertos del Institute for Public Policy Research (Instituto de Investigación de Políticas Sociales), el año pasado se registró el mayor aumento del número de ninis desde el 2000.
El director del IPPR, Nick Pearce, comentó:
Hay 137.000 jóvenes más de entre 16 y 24 años desempleados y sin seguir ningún curso de formación en comparación con el año pasado, lo que representa un aumento de más del 13%. Es imprescindible que el gobierno actúe ahora para tratar de resolver el problema del desempleo juvenil.
El gobierno debería de asegurarse de que todos los jóvenes que hayan permanecido parados más de un año puedan acceder a un trabajo con un salario mínimo para evitar que pierdan contacto con el mercado de trabajo.

I am a native Spanish speaker and I have recently completed an European Master in Translation and Interpreting (EMT) at the University of Westminster. I hold a B.A. in Translation and Interpreting by the University of Malaga. I have previous experience working as interpreter in different environments and I have worked in fields related with Cooperation and Development, International Relations, Medical, Pharmaceutical, Psychology, Legal and the Film Industry. I have an excellent command of English, French and Italian. I am currently working as a full time Translation Project Manager but I have time to take any other simple projects.
