I'm a professional freelance translator with extensive experience of translating legal and technical documents primarily from German into English.

As a specialist patent translator, I regularly translate patent claims, patent specifications and patent litigation documents such as notices of opposition, appeals, EPO/DPMA decisions and court judgements, as well as prior art documents and licensing agreements.

Due to the diverse nature of IP law I have experience translating texts in a wide variety of subject areas such as chemistry and pharmaceuticals, electronics, mechanical engineering and dentistry.

I also translate a broad range of non-legal texts such as marketing copy, technical manuals, business correspondence and fiction (my translation of the chick-lit novel "Banking on a Wedding" by Nelly Berlin was published in 2016).

Prior to setting up my own business in 2013, I spent three years working as an in-house translator for a renowned IP law firm in Germany.

I hold an MA (with Merit) in Translation and Professional Language Skills from the University of Bath and a BA (First Class) in Germanic Studies from the University of Sheffield.
