Bio
Alicia García Adames is a Spanish freelance professional translator and interpreter (English and French into Spanish). She has a Bachelor's Degree in Translation and Interpreting (University of Salamanca, Spain) and studied for one semester at the University of Glasgow (Glasgow, United Kingdom) and ISIT (Paris, France). She is specialising in institutional translation, but also takes up projects in other fields (Subtitling, Arts, Law, etc.).

Before becoming a freelancer, she volunteered as an interpreter for the Initiatives of Change 2011 Summer Conferences (Caux, Switzerland) and worked as an intern at the Spanish Translation Service of the United Nations Headquarters (New York, USA). She is interested in Art, Literature, Politics and Music and recently completed her piano studies at Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Salamanca (Salamanca, Spain). In June 2011, she was awarded the 15th edition of the Andreu Febrer Translation Prize (University of Vic, Spain) for her translation into Spanish of "Rings on My Fingers", by Alison Tyler.

The people who have worked with her always praise her professionalism and attention to detail. At work, the most important things for her are quality and accuracy. She has an excellent ability to adapt to multicultural environments, loves to prove herself and is constantly looking for new professional challenges.
