Treatment of Rhinitis in Geriatric Patients:
Azelastine Nasal Spray is as effective as Fluticasone Nasal Spray
Bad Homburg, Germany: XXXX (XXX®) Nasal Spray is as effective as Fluticasone Nasal Spray in the treatment of geriatric patients with rhinitis. This is the result of a study, presented at the 2006 international congress of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology AAAAI in Florida/USA.
Two basic classes of drugs have shown to be efficient in the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR): Intranasal corticosteroids and anti-histamines, which are available as tablets or as nasal sprays. The objective of the presented study was to compare the intranasal antihistamine XXXX and the intranasal corticosteroid XXXX in terms of treatment efficacy.
In this randomized, parallel, open-label study V.B. Behncke2 treated 18 geriatric patients with rhinitis either with XXXX Nasal Spray (2 puffs per nostril twice daily) or XXXX (2 puffs per nostril twice daily) for the study period of 6 weeks. The primary outcome variables were the Rhinitis Quality of Life Score (RQLQ) and the Total Daily Symptom Score (TDSS). The results showed that both treatments significantly improved the RQLQ but there was no difference between the study groups. Furthermore both treatments equally improved the TDSS. These results suggest that a treatment with XXXX Nasal Spray is as effective as a treatment with the intranasal corticosteroid XXXX.

Este es el resultado de un estudio presentado en el congreso Internacional de la Academia Americana de Alergia, Asma e Inmunología AAAAI en Florida/EE.UU. en 2006.
Dos clases básicas de medicamentos han demostrado ser eficientes en el tratamiento de rinitis alérgica estacional (RAE): los corticosteroides intranasales y los antihistamínicos, que están disponibles en forma de pastillas y sprays nasales. El objetivo del estudio presentado era comparar el antihistamínico intranasal XXXX y el corticosteroide intranasal XXXX en cuanto a eficacia de tratamiento.

Your XXXX Watch is guaranteed for twelve months from the date of purchase against any defects in materials or constructions. This guarantee is only valid if the form at the back of this leaflet is completed at the time of purchase. The terms of this guarantee provide rights which are in addition to your statutory rights and do not limit or otherwise affect those statutory rights.
IMPORTANT – NOT COVERED BY GURANTEE
1. Batteries, straps, bracelets and watch glasses.
2. Damage or breakage caused from accident, maltreatment or mishandling.
3. Water penetration, except in watches marked as water resistant.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR XXXX WATCH
1. Batteries
The battery should be replaced about every eighteen months. Battery replacement requires the use of specialist tools, and should be carried out by an approved stockist or specialist repairer.
IMPORTANT – do not attempt to replace the battery yourself as this invalidates your guarantee.
2. Handing
Your watch will not withstand extreme shocks or vibration. It is sensible to remove your watch before commencing rough work, or situations where the watch could be damaged.
3. Bracelet Watches
Take care to avoid bending the bracelet beyond the normal curvature of the wrist. It is recommended the watch be kept in the presentation box when not in use. Avoid placing the watch under heavy objects or loose in a handbag.
4. Water Resistance
If your watch is not marked, usually on the back of the case, with either the words “Water Resistant” or a degree of water resistance e.g. 3ATM, then it is NOT water resistant. Care should be taken to avoid getting the watch wet as damage to the movement may result. This usually applies to watches designed for “dress or cocktail” type water.
3ATM – The watch is designed to withstand accidental splashing or rain but it is NOT suitable for swimming.
5ATM – The watch is designed to withstand leisure type swimming i.e. swimming baths, yachting and taking a shower. It is NOT designed to withstand sports high board diving, scuba type diving etc.
10ATM – The watch is designed to withstand swimming, yachting, taking a shower, shallow diving e.g. swimming baths and bathing but NOT scuba diving.
General Notes:
Do not operate buttons or the crown while the watch is in contact with water. Remember diving into a swimming pool can very briefly and significantly increase pressure on your watch. It may be that the action of diving into a pool increases the pressure on your watch to beyond the limits it has been designed to withstand. Wide variance of the temperature can effect, temporarily, the time-keeping accuracy of your watch. Pressure in ATM’s is a test pressure and should not be considered as actual diving depth as movement in the water tends to increase the pressure bearing at a given depth. If your watch has been used in salt water it should be rinsed off in fresh water and carefully dried. Leather straps are not recommended for regular use in water.

It is not necessary to register this guarantee with us. Please ensure that it is completed at the point and time of purchase and kept in a safe place. 4. Resistencia al agua

3ATM: el reloj se ha diseñado para resistir salpicaduras accidentales o lluvia pero NO para nadar con él.
5ATM: el reloj está diseñado para resistir a la natación de ocio (baños, navegación y ducharse con él). No está diseñado para resistir a deportes náuticos, buceo, etc.
10ATM: el reloj está diseñado para resistir al baño, la navegación, la ducha, el buceo a poca profundidad, p.ej. natación y baño pero NO submarinismo.
Notas generales:
No utilice los botones de la corona mientras el reloj esté en contacto con el agua. Recuerde que si se sumerge en una piscina puede aumentar la presión sobre su reloj de manera breve y significativa. Puede que la acción de sumergirse en una piscina incremente la presión sobre su reloj por encima de los límites de resistencia para los que ha sido diseñado.
