Translation - English London (Staff reporter) Thousands of Muslims and Non-Muslims protested at London's Trafalgar square against the publication of insulting sketches of Prophet Muhammad in European newspapers. The insulting sketches were firstly published in one of Denmark's newspaper followed by other European news papers. To prevent any agitation; Muslim women, children and some disabled people were holding government approved placards which displayed the slogans of "We are united against incitation, prophet Muhammad is a symbol of peace and free dome, Prophet Muhammad is a symbol of mercy for mankind, He is the symbol of respect and solemnity, we are united against Islamophobia". "United against incitation and Islamophobia". rally had the suport of Muslim Association of Britain, Muslim council of Britain, several other Islamic groups and the Mayor of London Ken Livingstone. A huge deployment of police was at the Trafalgar Square because it was feared that the people who cause chaos in football clubs, extremists or racist could attempt to hijack the rally causing agitation. Yesterday's rally was extremely peace full and totally opposite to the protest in front of Denmark's embassy last weekend. During the last weeks rally a lot of enticing placards were held and same kind of slogans were shouted. A lot of speakers addressed the Saturday's protests. Mayor of London Ken Livingstone said that he is supporting the rally because contrary to media coverage it will help in knowing the thoughts of Muslims of our nation. During the recent days most of the media has provided extremist groups, racist and fascist elements a huge platform. The publication of cartoons was an intentional insult of the Muslim community and the aim was to incite them to destroy their trust and understanding and if such cartoons were published about other groups then everyone would have declared them racist or anti Semitic. Ken Livingstone said that there is no reason to break the law and the ones who do so will have to face the case but there is no denial to this fact that the whole incident has allowed the media to enter Islamophobia. The only benefit from this will be to the leftist extremists and Al-Qaeda, this should be brought to end by now and now is the time to say that we will call for a united movement. People from different religions, trade unions, selected representatives, women, men, youngsters and aged people should be united to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Muslim community against Islamophobia. other speakers also announced their support for Muslim community. Muslim speakers said that European newspapers have no idea that Muslims can give their lives for the respect of Holy Prophet Muhammad and cant tolerate His insult. They said that Muslims will keep the peace full protest going and will impel the media to apologise to the whole Islamic world for this impudence. They said that according to Muslims a huge conspiracy is going against their religion and they will defend it. The majority of Muslim population is in favour of conciliation and is peace full which has been proved by the rally. They said that temperate Muslims are constructing a bridge of reconcilement between Islam and the west. Media is ignoring them and bringing forward a few extremists and the righteous voice is being suppressed. They said that they give Christan men and women the message that they all are off springs of Prophet Abraham and are brothers and sisters but in enmity against Islam some elements are continuously trying to break this unity. Members of parliament Jeremy Cobrain, Muhammad Sadiq, rally's organiser Ans-al-makariti, representatives of MCB, Dr Aizaam Timimi also addressed the rally. Police had deployed over 500 officers. the rally was peace full and police's fear of any agitation ended. Christians and people belonging to other religions also fully participated in the protest. Muslim action committee didn't participated in the protest, they plan to protest next Saturday at the same location.
