cu privire la tutun şi la articolele din tutun
Parlamentul adoptă prezenta lege organică.
Capitolul I
DISPOZIŢII GENERALE
Articolul 1. Obiectul, scopurile şi domeniul de aplicare a legii
(1) Prezenta lege stabileşte bazele juridice, economice şi sociale de organizare a activităţii de cultivare, prelucrare postrecoltare şi industrială a tutunului, de import, fabricare, păstrare şi comercializare a articolelor din tutun şi reglementează raporturile ce apar ca urmare a acestor activităţi.
(2) Scopurile prezentei legi sînt:
a) apărarea intereselor economice ale statului şi societăţii în domeniile agrar şi industrial al ramurii tutunului, importului şi comercializării articolelor din tutun;
b) crearea unor condiţii adecvate pentru producerea tutunului nefermentat, fermentat şi a articolelor din tutun;
c) introducerea măsurilor de limitare a consumului articolelor din tutun;
d) introducerea măsurilor de prevenire a efectelor dăunătoare ale fumatului asupra sănătăţii;
e) asigurarea informării consumatorilor despre articolele din tutun care urmează a fi procurate şi consumate;
f) combaterea şi contracararea falsificării articolelor din tutun;
g) reglementarea fumatului în localuri şi zone publice.

The parliament passes this organic law.
Chapter I
GENERAL DISPOSITIONS
Article 1. Object, aims and enforcement of the present law
(1) The present law sets the legislative, economic and social grounds for the cultivation, the processing of tobacco crop as well as industrial, and the import, manufacturing, storing and marketing tobacco items; it also establishes the relations set up by such activities.
(2) The aims of the present law are:
a) To protect the economic interests of the state and society in the agricultural and industrial branches of tobacco, import and trade with tobacco items;
b) To create the proper conditions for the production of non-fermented and fermented tobacco, and of tobacco items;
c) To introduce measures aimed at limiting tobacco products use;
d) To introduce measures aimed at preventing the health risks posed by smoking;
e) To ensure consumers are fully informed about the tobacco products about to be bought and used;
f) To combat and counteract counterfeit activities with tobacco items;
g) To set out the conditions under which smoking is permitted in bars and public spaces.
