The TT-1830B Remote DSC Modem is a microprocessor equipped interface used in the DSC Coast Station system manufactured by Thrane & Thrane A/S.
The TT-1830B Remote DSC Modem function as an interface connecting a HF/VHF Transceiver and the TT-102239 DSC VHP Modem or the TT-102237 DSC/ARQ HF Modem via telephone lines and the TT-102238 DSC/ARQ Modem I/O.
The TT-1830B attenuates and filters the FSK Tx-AF signal from the DSC/ARQ Modem to the signal level required by the HF/VHF Transceiver.
When supplied with a Tx-key signal the TT-1830B will activate the transmitter in the HF/VHF Transceiver via a RS410 Type N output.
Also, the TT-1830B amplifies and filters the FSK Rx-Audio signal from the HF/VHF Transceiver and transmit this signal to the Modem equipment.
A Rx-level DC and a squelch input from the VHF/HF Transceiver are converted and encoded into a 75 Baud FSK signal and added to the Rx-Audio signal in the TT-1830B.
The Rx-level information included in the Rx-Audio signal is decoded and used in the DSC Coast Station CPU.
The TT-1830B Remote DSC Modem is powered by a single 5 V DC, supplied from the HF/VHF transceiver or an external power supply.

The Tx-AF signal from U6 input amplifier is present at TP14 and flows through a 8th order 0.1 dB Chebyshev bandpass filter consisting of U8a, U8b, U8c and U8d amplifiers.
Lower cut-off frequency is 1000 Hz and upper cut-off frequency is 2400 Hz. The passband gain is 0 dB.
From U8a output, the 2900 Hz Tx-key signal is supplied to the Tx-key circuit.
In the Tx-AF signal path to the Radio transmitter, a notch filter function is necessary to attenuate the unwanted Tx-key signal.
U9a, U9b, U9c, U9d and U10a, U10b, U10c, U10d constitute a 4th order "Bi-quad" notch filter with F1 = 2900 Hz and 3 dB bandwidth of about 20 Hz. Attenuation at the notch frequency is higher than 50 dB.
From the notch filter output at TP18, the Tx-AF signal is supplied to the Tx-AF output circuit.

The SMUX 3R1 regulator is-applicable to the sypply excitation of a 3-phase brushless synchronous generator, whose excitation power is taken directly from the stator terminals. The neutral point of the generator must be available.
The nominal voltage of the generator must be 380 V or 660 V/ 30 Hz, or 450 V/60 Hz. On request, regulators for 400 V or 415 V/ 50 or 60 Hz can be supplied.
The maximum continuous excitation power is approx.
2,2 kW 380 V
2,7 kW 450 V or
4 kW 660 V
Other features are:
• quadrature droop
• voltage build-up by residual field
• overcurrent limitation of the exciter
The principle of the regulator is presented in the circuit diagram, Fig. 1.2. The regulator includes a 3-phase star-connected tyristor-controlled rectifier. The connection is equipped with a zero diode. The regulator also includes two thyristors, which short circuit the short-circuit excitation supply, when the R-phase voltage is higher than 75 % of the rated value. The phase order of the supply voltage is arbitrary. The operation of the synchronizing and quadrature-droop circuits of the regulator is independent of the direction of the rotation of the machine.
7.9 Firing units
The regulator includes three firing units, one for each main thyristor VI, V2, and V3. In the following the- R-phase firing unit is described. The firing unit comprises a synchronizing circuit located on the A5 board (App. 5), assembled around an amplifier A7, and a pulse amplifier which is located on the A2 board (App. 8). The main components of the pulse amplifier are a CMOS circuit Dl and transistors V43 and V46.
The frequency data is conducted through transformer Tl to terminal 18 of the Al board and further to the CMOS-circuit Dl, terminal 14. Control of the regulation amplifier is conducted through resistor R49 to amplifier A7, terminal 2.
The optoisolator V40 located on the A2 board transfers data from the sinchronizing circuit to the pulse amplifer. The firing pulse is permitted only if the anode-cathode voltage of the thyristor is positive; this data is supplied to the firing unit through a resistor chain R52, R55, R58, R61. The firing pulse is generated by the disharge of a capasitor C20 through resistor R49 and transistor V46. The pulse amplifer has its own auxiliary voltage, which is generated in the secondary coil a1-b1-c1 of transformer T1 and stabilized by zener diode V27.

Устройство поджига содержит цепь синхронизации расположенное на плате А5 (Приложение 5), собранную вокруг усилителя А2 и усилитель импульсов расположенный на плате А2 (Приложение 8). Главные компоненты усилителя импульсов: КМОП микросхема D1 и транзисторы V43 V46.

Sound emitted from the sonar transducer forms an oval-shaped beam with a width of approximately 12° in the vertical direction (vertical beam width). The tilt angle is indicated by the angle between the center line of the beam and the horizontal plane. Then, if the tilt angle is set to 0°, the center line is parallel with the sea surface and one half of the emitted sound goes upward, toward the sea surface. This causes one half of the emitted sound to be reflected toward the transducer and displayed on the screen as sea surface reflections. When the sea is calm, since the sound is reflected just like a light hitting a mirror at a low incident angle, it propagates away and the sea surface reflections become negligible. However if the sea is not calm enough, they will become dominant and interfere with observation of wanted echoes. To minimize these sea surface reflections and to search surface fish schools effectively, the tilt angle is usually set between 5° and 6° so the upper portion of the beam becomes almost parallel with the sea surface. When the sea is rough, the tilt angle is slightly increased to lessen the affect of sea surface reflections.

The power management consist of 5 Synpol-D units, each mounted in the frontpanels of the generators. These units controls the dieselengines by starting, stopping and loadsharing.
2.1 Synpol-D Units
The Synpol-D units replaces the existing Stromberg A1 units in TMS 5,6,8,9 and in the new MSB for generator 5. These units controls the dieselengines. The major functions of the A1 units are now processed by the Synpol-D . These function are described in the following paragraphs.
2.1.1 Starting a Diesel
By pushing the "START" button on the ECD 1 panel or on the Synpol-D panel, either in Manual or automatic mode. In automatic mode the diesel will also start when the PMS decides to use more generators. The diesel start command is always generated by the Synpol-D. When a startorder is given the green light in the startbutton will be activated. When an order fails the light will go out and another starting order is given. After three attempts, a start failure will occur. When the diesel is running the green light will be active.
2.1.2 Stopping a Diesel
By pushing the "STOP" button on the ECD 1 panel or on the Synpol-D panel, either in Manual or automatic mode. In automatic mode the diesel will also stop when the PMS decides to use less generators. The diesel stop command is also generated by the existing circuit for emergency stop and failures. When a Stoporder is given ,the red light will be activated. When this light is active a stopping command is active. First the PMS starts unloading the engine than the breaker is opened. The diesel is still running and so the green light is also active. After a cooling down period the stoppingvalve will be activated. Now both lights will turn off.

An analogue address unit collects the voltage level outputs from the sensor connected to it and passes that value on to the control panel. No processing of the sensor value takes place in the address unit.
In an analogue system there is no normal sensor value as such. The reason for this is that the sensor all the time will change its output value according to the environment. A heat detector for example gives a higher output value when the temperature rises, and a smoke sensor gives a higher output when the smoke level is increased. A smoke sensor will not, however, give a higher output value if only the temperature is increased. So a moderate drift in output values from analogue sensors is quite normal since the conditions in the environment change.
The value output should not change significantly for an address unit with a manual call point or another hard contact device connected. Small fluctuations (e.g. 1 or 2) are quite normal, but much greater fluctuations may indicate a faulty or unstable address unit.
In an analogue system the prewarning level is usualh defined as 80%, while the fire alarm level is defined as 100%. A detector responding with a value between 80% and 100% is therefore signalling a prewarning. If the value is above 100% it is signalling a fire alarm. For both cases the panel must see the qualifier for two consecutive scans before it reacts. A detector value of 20% signifies a fault or a missing sensor. In an analogue system the detector (or sensor) value is not dependent on whether loops or lines are connected. Normal values for sensors are in the range 30% to 60%. A manual call point will normally answer with a value of approximately 55%.
