EL TAPÓN DE CORCHO SE INVENTÓ EN GALICIA
El tapón de corcho que sirve para cerrar las botellas de vino fue ideado en el siglo XVIII por un monje benedictino francés en un viaje de peregrinación a Santiago de Compostela. Aunque el corcho era conocido desde tiempos remotos, no empezó a ser usado como tapón hasta este momento. Ese monje se llamaba Dom Pierre Pérignon (más conocido como Dom Perignon, inventor del vino espumoso), quien se fijó en las bondades del corcho como cierre de las vasijas usadas por los peregrinos a modo de cantimploras, tras lo cual dedujo que podía ser el material ideal para cerrar las botellas de vidrio de forma casi hermética y conseguir una mejor elaboración de su conocido Champagne.
El corcho.
El corcho es un material natural que se encuentra en la corteza de los Alcornoques (Querqus Suber) y que forma parte de uno de los elementos clave para garantizar la calidad del vino (Un 10% del vino que se estropea se debe a defectos del tapón). España es el segundo productor mundial de tapones de corcho, con una producción del 20% y sólo superado por Portugal que controla el mercado con una cuota del 70%.
CONOZCA LA DENOMINACIÓN DE ORIGEN RIAS BAIXAS
De una Tierra Fecunda.
Se trata de vinos llenos de leyendas, que se elaboran a partir de una cepa básica, la uva albariño, que proceden de esos parajes dulces del noroeste de España, de clima suave y verdor permanente, donde nacen y se elaboran junto a la mar gallega.
De las cinco subzonas que comprende la Denominación de Origen Rias Baixas, el “Val do Salnés” es el área más llana. “O Condado do Tea”, “Ribeira do Ulla” y “Soutomaior” son las subzonas más montañosas. En la subzona de “O Rosal”, en el Bajo Miño, abundan las terrazas fluviales.
La tradición unida a la Tecnología.
En los últimos años la Denominación de Origen “Rias Baixas” ha experimentado una rápida evolución. De unas elaboraciones exclusivamente artesanales, se ha pasado a contar con bodegas dotadas de las últimas tecnologías. El vertiginosos ascenso de los vinos de “Rias Baixas” se ha debido a su capacidad para adaptarse a las técnicas modernas, sin abandonar los sistemas tradicionales en lo relativo al cultivo de las viñas y a las faenas de recolección y vendimia.
Unos Controles Impecables.
Los rigurosos controles a los que el Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen Rías Baixas somete sus vinos justifican en parte, su altísima calidad. La labor del Consejo comienza con la inspección de las parcelas de viñedo y de las bodegas. Durante la vendimia se controlan las partidas de uva que entran en las bodegas de de la D.O. Los inspectores se aseguran que procede de los viñedos inscritos en el Consejo Regulador y que la cantidad de uva cosechada coincide con la superficie registrada.
Una vez elaborado el vino, se realizan inspecciones oportunas para comprobar el volumen de vino obtenido. Antes de expedir la contraetiqueta, un veedor del Consejo Regulador toma muestras de cada depósito de vino para someterlo a un análisis físico-químico y organolépticos. Sólo los vinos que superan estas pruebas, pueden lucir la contraetiqueta de la “Denominación de Orixe Rias Baixas”.
De Uva Escasa y Codiciada.
La uva albariño ocupa actualmente la mayor parte de la superficie de viñedo inscrito en el registro de viñas de la Denominación de Origen “Rias Baixas” (94%). Los granos de uva albariño son de pequeño tamaño o a lo sumo medio, esféricos, de color dorado- oscuro que en su plena madurez adquieren una ligera tonalidad parduzca. Alcanza una graduación alcohólica elevada (12-13 grados) con una acidez notable (7 a 9 gr/l. expresado en ácido tartárico), organolépticamente son considerados como muy buenos.
Algunas teorías sostienen con fundamento que es una variedad autóctona de Galicia. Otras hipótesis aseguran que llegó de la mano de los monjes de Cluny, allá por los siglos XII y XIII.
Junto al albariño existen otras variedades blancas en la denominación de Origen Rias Baixas como, “loureira blanca” o “marqués”, “treixadura”, “caiño blanco”, “torrontés” y “godello” o variedades tintas como “caiño tinto”, “espadeiro”, “loureira tinta”, “sousón”, “mencía” y “brancellao” que entran a formar parte de los diferentes vinos que se producen en “Rias Baixas”.
Un Lujo Gastronómico.
Los “Rias Baixas” blancos son vinos secos, de aromas punzantes, florales e intensamente afrutados. Armonizan a la perfección con el pescado y los mariscos, y con las últimas creaciones de la cocina del mar. Ligan con nuestros pinchos y tapas. Con el pescado frito, con los canapés de ahumados, las sardinas a la brasa, las gambas al ajillo, y tantas otras variedades del tapeo tradicional.
En la mesa constituyen una referencia inevitable a la hora de acompañar las más brillantes recetas de pescado. No en vano presumen de su condición de vino universal.
Vino de Monterrei
Cuando hablamos del vino de Monterrei, nos referimos a un producto muy antiguo, y, según los testimonios existentes muy bien conocido en la Roma Imperial donde se trasladaba para disfrute de emperadores, siendo la calidad de sus caldos certificada a mediados del siglo XV cuando el Rey de Castilla nombró al Conde de Monterrey, Virrey de la Nueva España, el cual, cada vez que tenía que celebrar una conquista reclamaba los más ricos vinos de esta comarca para celebrarlo.
La Denominación de Origen Monterrei por sus características físicas es una comarca que responde de forma ejemplar a la idea de una Denominación de origen, bien definida y de personalidad acusada, siendo una zona muy peculiar situada en un lugar donde se mezclan los climas atlántico y continental, además de contar con una gran diversidad de suelos con materiales de arrastre, peculiaridad muy poco común fuera de Galicia, lo que reafirma el carácter diferencial con el resto de los vinos gallegos.
El río que baña los viñedos y sus afluentes desembocan en el río Duero, perteneciendo a esta cuenca hidrográfica, peculiaridad única en Galicia. Las precipitaciones anuales no superan los 600 mm, lo que permite reducir los tratamientos fitosanitarios al mínimo. También las temperaturas durante el verano son extremas, tanto de día como de noche, llegando a diferencias térmicas de hasta 30 grados, que aportan tanto a los vinos blancos como a los tintos mucho aroma y estructura.
La mayor parte de los vinos de la Denominación de Origen Monterrei son blancos, pero también produce un abanico de tintos excelentes, alguno de los cuales han recibido importantes premios nacionales e internacionales.
Los deliciosos vinos blancos, frescos y afrutados están hechos con las variedades Godello y
Treixadura. Son caldos que combinan los sabores florales y afrutados de los vinos de Galicia, con el mayor cuerpo y contenido alcohólico de los vinos del centro que le otorga su especial situación geográfica.
Así mismo se elaboran en la Denominación de Origen vinos blancos frescos y ligeros elaborados con la variedad de uva Doña Blanca.
Los vinos tintos son jóvenes y la mayoría se elaboran a partir de la variedad Mencía, aunque también se está empleando de forma experimental la uva Arauxa (Tempranillo) y Merenzao. Minoritariamente se elaboran vinos envejecidos en barrica, cuyo resultado está siendo muy satisfactorio.

vitivinícolas gallegas es también la más premiada recordando el 2008 como el gran año a nivel de galardones que han obtenido los caldos de esta denominación, entre ellos el primer puesto en el Sistembolaget sueco de un vino de Monterrei y la Medalla de Plata del Concurso Mundial de Bruselas, la medalla de oro a un tinto joven en el II Concurso de los vinos del Noroeste, los cuatro premios GALLAECIA 2008 para otros tantos vinos culminando con la “XX CATA DOS VIÑOS DE GALICIA” celebrada en Ferreira de Pantón y en la que cuatro vinos se alzaron con los galardones a mejor blanco de Galicia y primero y segundo puesto de vinos blancos y primero de tintos de bodegas de “Colleiteiro” (Bodegas de capacidad menor de 60.000 litros).
En el primer trimestre de año la Denominación de Origen Monterrei ha incrementado un 9 % la entrega de contraetiquetas lo que ha disipado los temores de ralentización en la producción de las bodegas alcanzando además la exportación de Vino de la Denominación de Origen Monterrei el 40% en lo que llevamos de año siendo en términos relativos esta Denominación de Origen la de mayor porcentaje de exportaciones de las cuatro con presencia en Ourense.
Desde 1994 en que se aprueba el reglamento de la Denominación de Origen Monterrei esta ha experimentado un crecimiento espectacular pasando de ser la “Cenicienta Gallega” a ser la garante de un producto “de culto” que se saborea en las mejores mesas del mundo.

THE TRADITIONAL CORK WAS INVENTED IN GALICIA
The cork used to seal wine bottles was dreamt up in the eighteenth century by a French Benedictine monk who was on a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Although people had known about the cork material since ancient times, it had not been used as a stopper before this moment. It was this monk, a certain Dom Pierre Pérignon (better known as Dom Perignon, the inventor of sparkling wine), who homed in on the usefulness of cork to seal the containers used as flasks by pilgrims. From this, he deduced that it could be the perfect way to close off glass bottles, making an almost airtight seal and allowing him to produce a better quality version of his well-known champagne.
Cork
Cork is a natural material found in the bark of the cork oak (Quercus Suber) tree, and it is instrumental in helping to ensure good quality wine (10% of wine goes off as a result of poor quality stoppering). Spain is the second largest producer of corks, producing 20% of the world´s supply and second only to Portugal which dominates the market with a 70% share.

Product of a fertile land
These beautiful spots in the region of north-west Spain, known for its mild climate and perenially green pastures, give birth to wines steeped in legend, produced from one simple ingredient, the Albariño grape, and brought to fruition alongside the Galician sea.
Of the five areas comprising the Rias Baixas P.D.O., Val do Salnés is the flattest. O Condado do Tea, Ribeira do Ulla and Soutomaior are the hilliest. O Rosal in Bajo Miño, is characterised by its abundant river terraces.
Tradition combined with technology
In recent years, the Rias Baixas P.D.O. has grown rapidly. From the production of exclusively artisan wines, it has evolved to boast wineries kitted out with the latest in modern technology. The giddying rise of Rias Baixas wines can be attributed to the ability of producers to adapt to modern techniques while retaining traditional methods when it comes to vine cultivation and harvesting.
Scrupulous Controls
The high quality of Rias Baixas P.D.O. wines can in part be explained by the rigorous controls to which they are subjected by the Regulatory Board. The Board´s work starts with inspections of the vineyard plots and wine cellars. During harvest they monitor the grape batches that make it into the P.D.O. cellars. Inspectors make sure that the grapes come from vineyards registered with the Board, and that the amount of grapes harvested matches the area of land registered.
Once the wine is made, the appropriate inspections are carried out to check how much wine has been produced. Before issuing the back label, an overseer from the Board takes samples from each vat of wine so they can undergo physical, chemical and sensory analysis. Only wines which pass these tests are allowed to display the “Denominación de Orixe Rias Baixas” back label.
A rare and coveted grape
Today, the Albariño grape accounts for the majority of the vine-growing area registered with the Rias Baixas P.D.O. (94%). Albariño grapes are small to medium in size, round, and dark gold in colour, which when fully ripe acquire a slight brownish tinge. They have a high alcoholic content (12-13%) and a notable acidity (7-9gr/l expressed as tartaric acid) and are evaluated very highly when using the senses.
Some claim that the Albariño grape is indigenous to Galicia. Others say it was brought to the region by the Cluny monks in the 12th or 13th century.
There are several other varieties of white grape which come under the umbrella of the Rias Baixas P.D.O., such as Loureira Blanca or Marqués, Treixadura, Caiño Blanco, Torrontés and Godello, as well as red varieties such as Caiño Tinto, Espadeiro, Loureira Tinta, Sousón, Mencía and Brancellao, which are used to produce the many different Rias Baixas wines.
A Gastronomic Luxury
Rias Baixas P.D.O. white wines are dry, with sharp floral and intensely fruity aromas. They pair perfectly with fish, shellfish and the latest seafood-inspired dishes. They´re a perfect match with our pinchos and tapas, for example fried fish, smoked canapés, grilled sardines, garlic prawns and any number of traditional style tapas.
They inevitably have pride of place on the dinner table when it comes to accompanying the best fish recipes. It´s not for nothing that they boast of their status as universal wines.
Wine from Monterrei
When we talk about wine from Monterrei, we are talking about a wine that has been around for a long time. According to current evidence, Monterrei wine was well known in Imperial Rome, where it was transported for the emperors to enjoy. It was given the royal seal of approval in the mid 15th century, when the King of Castile named the Count of Monterrey Viceroy of the Spanish colonies in the New World. This was the same King who, whenever he wanted to celebrate a conquest, commandeered the best wines from Monterrei to help him celebrate.
Monterrei is, thanks to its geographical characteristics, the ideal candidate to become a P.D.O. A well-defined region with a striking personality, it is in a unique area where the Atlantic and continental climates meet. In addition to this, it boasts a great variety of soils dragged up from riverbed sediments, containing eroded sand, stone and gravel, a characteristic seldom found outside Galicia and which reaffirms its uniqueness amongst the other Galician wines.
The vineyards are bathed by a river which, together with its tributaries, flows into the Duero River. These all form part of the river basin, the only one of its kind in Galicia. Annual rainfall is less than 600mm, which allows the use of pesticides to be reduced to the minimum. In addition to this summer temperatures are extreme, both during the day and at night, with the temperature difference sometimes reaching 30 degrees. This produces both red and white wines which are aromatic and well-structured.
Most of the Monterrei P.D.O. wines are white, but the region also produces a wonderful range of red wines, some of which have received important national, and international, awards.
The delicious Monterrei white wines, characterised by their freshness and fruitiness, are elaborated using the Godello and Treixadura grape varieties. These wines combine the fresh, fruity flavours typical of all Galician wines with the more robust body and higher alcohol content resulting from Monterrei´s unique geographical location.
Wines are also produced in the region using the Doña Blanca grape variety, which produces fresh, light white wines.
The red wines produced are young and mostly elaborated from the Mencía grape variety, although experiments are being carried out with the Araux (Tempranillo) and Merenzao grapes. A few wines are also aged in oak barrels, the results of which are proving favourable.
Monterrei is the youngest and the smallest of the Galician wine P.D.O.s, and also the most lauded, with 2008 marking a high point in the number of awards won in the region. Awards included first place for a Monterrei wine in the Swedish Sistembolaget, the Silver Medal in the World Championships in Brussels, the Gold Medal for a Young Red Wine in the second North West Spain competition, and the four GALLAECIA 2008 prizes for another four Monterrei P.D.O. wines. The year culminated in the XX Wine Tasting of Galicia, held in Ferreira de Pantón, where Monterrei P.D.O. wines were garlanded with the award for Best Galician White Wine, first and second prize for a Colleiteiro White Wine, and first prize for a Colleiteiro Red Wine (a “colleiteiro” is a wine cellar with a capacity of less than 60,000 litres).
The number of Monterrei P.D.O. back labels has grown 9% in the first quarter of the year, which has allayed fears of a slowdown in wine cellar production. In addition to this, Monterrei P.D.O. wines reached export levels of 40% in the year to date, meaning that in relative terms it has the highest export rate of the four P.D.O.s based in Ourense.
Since the approval of the Monterrei P.D.O. regulation in 1994, D.O. wine production in the region has experienced phenomenal growth. From being the Galician Cinderella, Monterrei P.D.O. has become the belle of the ball, a guarantee of quality with a cult following which is savoured at the best tables the world over.

El respeto a los procesos ecológicos no es un freno al progreso. La Ley de Costas debe completarse; no reformarse

En los últimos días se ha hablado mucho sobre la Ley de Costas. Desde el movimiento ecologista queremos manifestar nuestro apoyo a una ley que, a la vista de la situación actual, debería ser reforzada y no rebajada. La Ley de Costas es la mejor garantía para salir de esta crisis económica sin sacrificar el delgado tramo de nuestro territorio que proporciona innumerables servicios naturales, como por ejemplo la defensa contra los temporales, y que nos proporciona un 10% del PIB.
Sin embargo, desde que comenzó a aplicarse, la ley se ha enfrentado a poderosos detractores: aquellos que solo ven en la franja costera una gran parcela a urbanizar, o aquellos que han sido víctimas de la desidia y arbitrariedad con la que muchos ayuntamientos, comunidades autónomas y las propias demarcaciones de costas han jugado a su antojo.
Con la entrada en vigor de la Ley de Costas, en 1988, se dio un paso muy importante en la conservación de los recursos naturales. La nueva ley establecía claros límites al proceso de desfiguración que desde la década de los 50 se había iniciado en la costa, haciendo patente el uso público de la costa para todos los ciudadanos. El servicio público del litoral aparece ya recogido en el artículo 132 de la Constitución española.
La Ley 22/1988 de Costas establecía un plazo de cinco años tras su entrada en vigor para completar el deslinde –la delimitación cartográfica- del Dominio Público Marítimo Terrestre. Sin embargo, transcurridos más de cuatro lustros, el proceso aún no se ha completado. Este dato es fundamental para entender por qué no se puede ahora poner en duda la ley, ya que supondría tirar por la borda el ingente trabajo de la Administración pública para delimitar más del 90% de los 8.000 kilómetros del litoral. Estos deslindes, además, están ratificados por sentencias firmes del Tribunal Supremo, órgano que ha confirmado la legalidad de la actuación de la Administración a lo largo de sus 24 años.
Además, la Ley de Costas, en sus disposiciones transitorias, salvaguarda los derechos de quienes contaban con derechos legítimos, dando el nada desdeñable plazo de 30 años prorrogables otros 30 para buscar otra ubicación al gran número de industrias altamente contaminantes que se asientan en la costa. No existe, pues, inseguridad jurídica o limitación desproporcionada sino, más bien, garantías y soluciones equilibradas aceptadas por el Constitucional.
La reforma que ahora se anuncia no es el primer intento de descafeinar la protección de la costa. En 2002 el Gobierno de Aznar introdujo varios cambios en la ley -escondidos en la Ley de Acompañamiento de los Presupuestos Generales – que fomentaban la ocupación más completa del litoral, llegando a autorizar construcciones a tan solo 20 metros del mar y favoreciendo los planes urbanísticos de los ayuntamientos. Después, el Gobierno de Zapatero también modificó la norma a través de segundas como la Ley de Economía Sostenible. Y ahora, con el cambio de Gobierno, se anuncia una “profunda reforma”.
En lugar de perseguir a quienes se enriquecieron gracias a la corrupción y los desmanes urbanísticos, se deja entrever un escenario de continuidad que daría por bueno el beneficio privado y la búsqueda de soluciones a medida, dejando en segundo plano el provecho que nos reporta una costa al servicio de todos. El peligro con esta reforma es que se premie a quienes se guían por la especulación. Existen multitud de ejemplos, como el del famoso hotel ilegal de El Algarrobico, construido a menos de 20 metros de la costa.
Desde Amigos de la Tierra, Ecologistas en Acción, Greenpeace, SEO/BirdLife y WWF consideramos que la aplicación de la Ley de Costas tiene que ser estricta, sin rebajas, eliminando las construcciones ilegales y compensando a aquellos propietarios víctimas de la mala gestión administrativa (estudiando caso por caso). La mejor política que se debe ejecutar es favorecer la conservación del entorno. Un estudio del propio Ministerio de Medio Ambiente considera que la costa española puede producir hasta 7.745 millones de euros anuales si se mantiene un estado de conservación favorable. Para mejorar nuestra competitividad económica, sobre todo la turística, no hace falta modificar la ley, hay que gestionar de forma integral todos los usos en el litoral.
El respeto a los procesos ecológicos no es un freno al progreso, es el camino para salir de la crisis. Además, no se lo pueden permitir ni dunas ni albuferas ni calas. Pero tampoco se lo pueden permitir ni la industria turística ni las pesquerías artesanales, y mucho menos los pueblos costeros y sus paseos marítimos, que ven peligrar la seguridad ciudadana por la previsible subida de nivel del mar y las inundaciones y avenidas debido al cambio climático. En España se han destruido en 20 años el equivalente a ocho campos de fútbol al día en la costa. Y la situación en insostenible. Con la vista puesta en el futuro de este país, la reforma de la Ley de Costas sería el peor de los mensajes porque ya hemos aprendido que el ladrillo no es la solución.

Respect for environmental processes is not a brake on progress

In the last few days there has been a lot of talk about the Spanish Coastline Act.1 We, the environmental movement, would like to signal our support for a law which, given the current situation, should be reinforced and not diluted. The Coastline Act is our best chance to emerge from the current economic crisis without sacrificing this slender tract of land, which provides us with countless natural services, for example protection against bad weather. In addition to this it provides 10% of our GDP.
Nevertheless, since coming into effect this law has found itself challenged by powerful detractors: people who merely see the coastal strip as a giant building plot, or those who have fallen victim to the careless and arbitrary manner in which most local councils, autonomous regions and even the coastal districts themselves have seen fit to act.
When the Coastline Act came into force in 1988, the conservation of our natural resources took a huge step forward. The new law established clear limits to the process of coastal disfiguration which had begun in the 1950s, spelling out the Spanish public´s right to the use of the coastline. The public service nature of the coastline is now reflected in Article 132 of the Spanish Constitution.
After its entry into force, The Coastline Act 22/1988 established a five-year period for the completion of the cartographic coastal demarcation of the Maritime-Terrestrial Public Domain. Nevertheless, more than twenty years later, the process is still not complete. This fact is essential in understanding why the law cannot now be called into question, as it would mean throwing away the enormous amount of work carried out by public administration bodies to demarcate more than 90% of the country´s almost 5000 miles of coastline.
Moreover, the provisions governing the transitional stages of the Coastline Act safeguard the rights of people with legitimate claims, laying out a not-insignificant period of 30 years, with the option of a further 30-year extension, to find alternative locations for the large number of highly polluting industries situated along the coast. So there is no problem with legal insecurity, or disproportionate limitation, then; rather there are guarantees and even-handed solutions which are accepted by the Constitutional Court.2
The recently announced reform is not the first attempt at watering down coastal protection. In 2002 the right-wing government led by Aznar introduced various amendments to the Act, encouraging development by allowing construction at a distance of only 20m from the sea, and favouring local council urban planning. Later, Zapatero´s socialist government also modified the Act through further legislation, such as the Sustainable Economy Act. And now, the newly elected right-wing government has announced “fundamental reform”.
Instead of persecuting those who made their fortune off the back of corruption and urban excess, this hints at a continuance of the status quo, giving the green light to private profit and half-baked solutions, and leaving aside the benefits offered by a coastal area available to all. The danger with the proposed reform is that it will reward those who believe in speculation. There are any number of examples, such as that of the infamous illegal hotel erected on the Algarrobico beach in Almería, less than 20 metres from the coast, and within a National Park.
As representatives of Friends of the Earth, Ecologistas en Acción (Environmentalists in Action, a Spanish group), Greenpeace, SEO/Birdlife and WWF, we think that the Coastline Act should be strictly enforced, not diluted. Illegal construction should be torn down, and property owners who have fallen victim to bad administrative management should be compensated (on a case-by-case basis). Supporting the conservation of the coastal environment is the best policy option available. A study carried out by the government´s own Ministry of the Environment states that the Spanish coast could generate up to 7.745 million euros annually, provided it is subject to adequate conservation measures. In order to improve our economic competitivity, especially in the tourism sector, what is required is not legal reform but comprehensive management of all coastal practices.
Respect for environmental processes is not an brake on progress, it is our way out of this crisis. Furthermore, our coves, our dunes and our lagoons can´t allow this type of progress. This decision was taken under the following main motives/for the folowing main reasons: on the one hand the meeting with you and the accountant in your office was not what we had expected, and it did not in any way clarify for us the dubious situation of the sale of the property, or the subsequent management/administration of the named firms. On the other hand the fees you charged with the approval of Mr ***** are, according to our understanding, exaggeratedly high.

Source text - Spanish Continuando con la labor que comenzamos a finales del pasado año bajo la iniciativa de Fundación Banesto, hemos estado indagando sobre la implantación de las redes sociales en las pymes de nuestro país, en esta ocasión en la región de Navarra. Fruto de esta investigación es la segunda edición del estudio “Tendencias y usos de las redes sociales en la pequeña y mediana empresa española”.
El informe, del que ya se han echo eco medios como El Diario de Navarra, ABC, Noticias de Navarra y Qué, se presentó ayer coincidiendo con la celebración del taller “Redes sociales y web 2.0: cómo vender más y mejor” que impartimos en el CEIN. Al taller, organizado por Fundación Banesto a través de sus iniciativas Emprededores en Red y EmprendedoresTV, con la colaboración de Movistar, acudieron casi 150 representantes de empresas navarras con interés por conocer las posibilidades y retos que supone el fenómeno de las redes sociales a la hora de generar negocio.
Esta edición del estudio se ha elaborado siguiendo la misma metodología que el anterior con tres estadios diferenciados:
1. Recopilación de datos de estudios anteriores para establecer el marco general de uso de las redes sociales por parte de las empresas españolas
2. Observación durante un año de las empresas que han participado en distintas iniciativas del proyecto Emprendedores en Red en cuanto a su uso de redes
3. Entrevistas y análisis con una muestra representativa de pymes de Navarra para extraer las tendencias en esta región
El estudio concluye que un 20% de las pymes navarras están redes sociales, con mayor presencia en Facebook (un 20%) que en Twitter (10%), aunque las que apuestan por esta última suelen tener más actualizados sus perfiles (17% de abandono frente al 26% de los perfiles corporativos en Facebook).

The study concludes that 20% of SMEs Navarre use social networks, with greater presence on Facebook (20%) than in Twitter (10%), although those using the latter tend to update their profiles more frequently (17% dropout rate compared to 26% of corporate profiles on Facebook).
