The densely populated gradina buildings served the Histri tribes in the area of today`s Poreč. In the second Century BC along this natural harbor, a Roman settlement was established, which developed into a fortified city, the symmetric orthogonal street grid, with the main roads Cardo Maximus and Decumanus and the Forum in the center, remained until these days.
The rank of a town Poreč became already before the reign of Caesar. In the first half of the century, the colony Parentium Iulia was founded. Poreč had his bishop back in times of the persecution of Christians in the 3rd Century. The first bishop of Poreč, Mauro, was a victim of the persecution of the Romans, and was elected to the saint the city after his martyre death. From then until today Poreč has been a diocese, and the point where the bishop Mavar bore his martyrdom. You may think (especially if you have attended certain academic, and even modern software/online courses) that learning a language mostly involves two things: grammar and vocabulary. This is false.
In my opinion, the most important aspect of being able to speak a language is your confidence in your ability to use the language.
You can come up with technical reasons why German or Chinese or Swedish or Russian or whatever is the “hardest” language in the world, but this is a waste of time. It doesn't matter what language you take on, it will be the hardest language for you if you keep focusing precisely on what makes it hard. It will always be as hard as you think it is.
I have met countless people who are potentially way more “naturally” intelligent than I am, and yet they make little progress in a second language because all they ever do is list the reasons holding them back from speaking it.
They constantly focus on these unpleasant points, so their attitude towards the language is totally messed up. A language hacker does the exact opposite and focuses on the positive from the start.
To illustrate the point, imagine this:
I am going to introduce you to a friend of mine, but I tell you a bit about him first. Just before I introduce you, I say that he hates children, is opinionated, he farts when he's nervous and has a really annoying laugh. All of this may be true, but it would be very mean of me to do that and ruin his chance to make his own first impression. It also means that you are going to be a bit apprehensive and maybe not so interested in getting to know him, since you already know some of these annoying things about him.
Then I go to someone else and tell him about the same guy – I say that he works for NASA, is very kind, has a great sense of humour, and has some interesting stories about travelling through Africa working for charities, all of which would also be true. In this case, my friend would be well-received and would be an instant hit. Eventually, new friends of his would discover some of the annoying parts of his personality, but they'll accept these as just part of the package of what this person is. They will accept these faults as all friends do.
Why can't we do the same thing for languages?

Potrete anche trovare i più svariati motivi per affermare che il tedesco, il cinese, il russo, lo svedese, o qualche altra lingua sia la più “difficile” da imparare, ma in fin dei conti, qualunque scegliate, sarà comunque la più difficile se vi focalizzerete su cosa la renda tale. Sarà sempre difficile come pensiate che sia.
Ho incontrato tantissime persone che potenzialmente sono più “intelligenti” di me, e tuttavia fanno piccoli progressi o addirittura nessuno, perché quello che continuamente fanno è fare una lista di tutto quello che li trattenga dal parlarla.
Si focalizzano costantemente su parti poco piacevoli, di conseguenza il loro atteggiamento nei confronti della lingua è totalmente sbagliato. Chi dalla lingua vuole avere il massimo fa proprio l'opposto, concentrandosi sugli aspetti positivi fin dall'inizio.
Per capire meglio il problema provate a immaginare la seguente situazione:
Vi voglio presentarvi a un mio amico ma prima vi parlo un po' di lui. Appena un attimo prima che lo incontriate vi confesso che odia i bambini ,è testardo, scoreggia quando è nervoso e il suo modo di ridere è parecchio fastidioso. Potrà anche essere tutto vero, ma sarebbe scorretto da parte mia riferirvi queste cose e condizionare così la prima impressione. Sicuramente non morirete dalla voglia di conoscerlo, viste le cose non proprio positive che avete sentito.
Dunque vado da qualcun altro e gli racconto della stessa persona – dico che lavora per la NASA, è molto gentile, ha un gran senso dell'umore, ha delle cose interessanti da raccontare sul suo viaggio in Africa, durante il quale ha lavorato per organizzazioni umanitarie e tutto ciò corrisponde al vero. In questo caso il mio amico il sentimento principale sarebbe la curiosità di conoscerlo. Alla fine i suoi nuovi amici scoprirebbero alcuni degli aspetti più seccanti della sua personalità, ma li accetterebbero come un aspetto del carattere della persona. Accetterebbero i suoi difetti come fanno tutti gli amici.
