The costs of the declaration of new building and registration of the building at the Land Registry will be paid by the optionee or purchaser, in addition to the costs referred to in clause eight of this document.

If the agreed term expires before the registration of the building is properly carried out, for any reason within the control of the grantor, the optionee may terminate this contract and will have the right to repayment of the amount paid by way of option premium. If the building registration is carried out as required, and in spite of this the grantor does not comply with his obligation to sell, the optionee will have the right not only to the return of the option premium but also to the same amount again, by way of compensation. If the optionee pulls out of the purchase once the declaration of new building is registered, he will forfeit the amount paid.

A bit of background:

I qualified as a translator in 1992, specialising in Law and Literature, after returning to England after 4 years in Spain. At the time I was working in a Spanish Notary's office in London, translating all types of legal documents. I was then employed under special contract by Clifford Chance, lawyers, in London to translate all the legal documents and tenders for contracts relating to the privatisation of Peruvian electricity and oil.

During this time I also worked as a freelance translator. I translated all types of legal documents and also undertook general translations such as magazine articles, correspondence and marketing shots.

I have continued to do translations, although I worked in full time fixed employment for a number of years, and was studying for the Legal Executive qualification which I gained in 2011. I now work solely freelance, and feel that my legal qualification gives me an enhanced knowledge for translations in this field.

I lived in Ireland for 7 years, where I worked in the in-house legal team for a wind farm developer, and moved to Mallorca in January 2011.

I look forward to working with you.
