Bio

First of all, nice to e-meet you!

My name is Gabriela Janiszewska and I am a professional translator who has a way with words. I believe that a good translation of a non-literary text should be as invisible as possible. Your customers don't want to wonder what the author of the original text meant and why your content sounds so strange in their language.

My main goal in translation is to deliver quality that will help my customers achieve their goals - sell their products/services, deliver high-quality support, etc. And by quality in translation, I mean naturally sounding target texts that are correct in terms of grammar, punctuation, style, are catchy and easy to understand. Translite is all about translations that are easy to process (lite!).

What can I translate for you?

I specialize in the following fields:

Localization of software, computer games, mobile applications. Since I am an enthusiastic gamer myself, translation of computer and traditional games set in fantasy or science-fiction worlds is a sheer pleasure for me.

    Some examples from my portfolio:

  • MMO RPG game set in a fantasy world (DE>PL, over 500,000 words)
  • MMO competitive quest shooter (EN>PL, over 20,000 words)
  • turn-based strategy (EN>PL, over 40,000 words)
  • strategy games (so-called tycoons)
  • mobile games
  • software localization

Pharmacology and medicine, also in connection with the EU, that is documentation submitted to and published by the European Medicines Agency, pharmacovigilance, summaries of product characteristics, clinical trials.

Apart from that, I have also translated several medical devices manuals (blood analysers, electronic portal imaging device, monitors) and presentations concerning such medical instruments and equipment as syringes, scalpels, catheters, surgical clothing, drapes and dressing materials

Marketing and e-commerce. Translation, post-editing and revision of texts for marketing and e-commerce purposes for customers from such industries as automotive, flooring, biotech, agriculture, automation. Participation in a German-Polish post-editing project for one of e-commerce platforms operating globally. Translation of blog posts for one of the leading e-shopping platforms.

Other initiatives

In 2019, I founded a Facebook group for translators who are interested in localization. It's called "Lokalizacja gier i oprogramowania". Apart from discussing various topics, I also prepare training materials, challenges, etc. for translators who have just taken their first steps in that field.
