Translation - Italian Berlusconi’s answers and the truth that are lacking
Silvio Berlusconi answers to the ten questions that Repubblica has been asking him for 175 days , 10 hours and 18 minutes. These questions were judged to be so libellous by the Prime Minister that he is demanding six-figure damages. The questions were lawful, as Berlusconi demonstrates today. Moreover, they placed a high value on his convictions. That is: “I believe that who is in charge of a public function, as the Prime Minister, must give an account of his behaviours, also the private ones.”
Repubblica agrees with Silvio Berlusconi. It stands to reason, that notwithstanding the media racket of these months, it has never been discussed about a divorce, private affaire of a husband and a wife, nor about gossip or private life. As the premier has at once had clear in his mind, the question interrogates the conducts of a person in charge of a public function.
Berlusconi has decided not to answer directly to our questions. He has entrusted his answers to Bruno Vespa, a journalist of a public television, contributor of a magazine (Panorama) property of the Prime Minister, in a book edited by Mondadori, Berlusconi’s property.
