Source text - English We shall take up the history of the Imperial Circle at around the elections of 1984. Until then, the Imperial Circle had operated without a hitch with both the U.S. economy and the U.S. dollar continuing to rise. The central bankers of the world were full aware that the situation was unsound and ultimately unsustainable, and there was an episode at the beginning of 1984 when they tried to talk down the dollar but the attempt failed and the dollar rose higher than ever. The economy continued so strong that it overcame even a modest rise in interest rate. Foreigners holding dollars-denominated financial assets were really raking it in. So were those exporting to United States.
Translation - Indonesian Kita akan membicarakan sejarah siklus Imperial sekitar pemilihan umum tahun 1984. Sampai saat itu, siklus Imperial telah beroperasi tanpa rintangan bersamaan dengan ekonomi dan dolar AS yang terus menanjak. Para bankir sentral dunia menyadari sepenuhnya bahwa situasi ini tidak sehat dan pada akhirnya tidak dapat berkesinambungan. Pada awal tahun 1984, mereka mencoba untuk meredam dolar namun usaha itu gagal dan dolar naik lebih tinggi dibanding masa-masa sebelumnya.
