Antes mesmo de se falar em responsabilidade ambiental, a companhia já contava com um Departamento de Meio Ambiente, que cuidava dos resíduos líquidos e estava atento à legislação. “Em 1985, ingressei nesse Departamento. Apesar de, à época, a legislação ainda ser embrionária, já tínhamos uma estrutura para resolver todas as questões que as novas leis iriam levantar”, explica Nelson Branco, Gerente de Serviços Ambientais da GM.

I am English, with a degree in Environmental Bio-Geo Sciences from the University of Leeds. I have been living and working as an English teacher and translator in Sao Paulo, Brazil since 2007.
