ACCREDITATION
I am a Sworn Certified Court Interpreter for the State of Washington in civil and criminal Courts. My Washington State Certification was also accepted by an Oregon Court.
My registration requires that every other year I submit to the State proof of having acquired a specific number of credits from courses in the field of law, ethics, or language.
I am now in the process of qualifying as a 1st Tier Registered Court Interpreter for the State of Oregon.

EXPERIENCE
Court Interpreting in consecutive and simultaneous mode. Freelance translating for outsourcers, legal professionals and private clients. Translation of legal documents including summons, last wills and testaments, powers of attorney, contracts, balance sheets, merging contracts, Board of Directors minutes, art restoration contracts, and various certificates.
I have worked on the translation of a large franchising contract for a major US fast food restaurant chain; on a legal translation for a major Italian bank; and participated as a team member in the translation of a section of the Italian internal revenue service tax code.
I have translated a catalog for a major Italian supplier of electrical components as well as a market research for a well known hotel.
I have worked on brochures and patent applications for companies and private clients. Tested software translated in Italian for a Seattle based company whose product won a prestigious IT award and has been on the market for about a year.
Letters, certificates, and documents dating back to the 14th century, handwritten in English, Italian, and Latin are my passion. As a genealogist I have had the fortune to come in contact with many of them.
I have worked for highly reputable and well known, Seattle based law firms.
I have recorded Italian voice-over for a well know, national, computer company to introduce on the Italian market one of their newest products.
Translating a variety of texts is a consistent venue to hone my skills.
Proof reading, editing, and transcribing.
As an independent contractor for LC Interpreters based in Seattle, and CyraCom Inc., a worldwide provider of phone interpreting to government, business and non-profit organizations, I provide interpreting and translating in a large variety of fields.

SKILLS
I am fully bilingual in Italian and English, spoken and written with a broad personal range of activities and experiences in both countries and also England.
As an avid reader and a writer my ability to translate is not limited to the areas in which I prevalently work.
It is my habit to research a new field by reading ahead of time as much as possible about it, and becoming familiar with its particular terminology and style, should there be one.
Where necessary, I learn as much as is available about new clients and their products.

WORK HABITS AND PRACTICES
My work has been recognized as accurate, professional and timely across multiple areas by outsourcers, private clients, and legal professionals.
I work with my clients to understand what they need and how I can satisfy them.
My ethical standards are high and strict.
I am honest and straightforward with my clients and establish a good rapport and clear and open communication. My clients can be assured that by accepting their work I commit to providing a high quality product and absolute confidentiality.
I offer the option of a notarized Certification of Accuracy, free of charge.
Deadlines are always strictly observed. Often the translated document is delivered ahead of time.
I follow through, promptly and accurately, with any changes my clients might want after the translation is delivered.

EDUCATION
Italian equivalent of an Associate Degree in Business.
Continuing education at college level including classes in law, ethics, and language to maintain my accreditation with the State of Washington. Participation in symposia and conferences for translators and interpreters.
