Після п’ятничної показової перевірки військ протиповітряної оборони на Київщині, заступник начальника Генштабу Збройних сил України генерал-лейтенант Ігор Романенко поїхав перевіряти боєготовність військово-морських та військово-повітряних частин у Криму, прихопивши з собою журналістів. Окрім брязкання наявною зброєю, в Міноборони, схоже, серйозно задумалися і над підвищенням обороноздатності від одного з наших «миролюбних» сусідів.

- 1941 год мы прожили в Староконюшенном переулке, в громадной коммунальной квартире так называемого коридорного типа, в которой было 22 комнаты и обитало 56 человек, - рассказывает его сын Николай Бабакин. – Это были самые разные люди: профессор, потомственный дворянин, который защищал Зимний дворец, заслуженный деятель науки, дворничиха. В ванную все время стояла очередь. Я до сих пор помню наши «банные дни»: 9-го, 19-го, 29-го числа каждого месяца… Когда Московский телецентр начал вести передачи, отец из раскуроченного, списанного осциллографа собрал телевизор. Translation - English Georgy was brought up by his stepfather. The family lived in a small way; for example, the cranberry jelly was a treat reserved only for Sunday dinners. And even later, when Babakin had his own family, things were not easy.

Source text - English It is significant in this regard that Venturi's ideas have so far stirred bitterest resentment among the more academic-minded of the Bauhaus generation—with its utter lack of irony, its spinsterish disdain for the popular culture but shaky grasp on any other, its incapacity to deal with monumental scale, its lip-service to technology, and its preoccupation with a rather prissily puristic aesthetic. Most of the Bauhaus design of the twenties, in buildings and furniture alike, can be distinguished by exactly those characteristics from Le Corbusier's more generous and varied forms of the period. Two strains in modern architecture seem to separate here, with Le Corbusier and Venturi now seen as working the same larger, more humane, architects' rather than "designers' " vein.

Вентури уже вызывали самое ярое неприятие более строгих ученых кругов поколения Баухауса, которым так недоставало иронии, с их презрительным, как у старой девы, отношением к поп-культуре и неспособностью по-настоящему принять другие ценности, мыслить в масштабах монументальности, лицемерной преданностью техническим новшествам и увлечением каким-то чопорно-пуристическим эстетизмом. Для преобладающей части композиций Баухауса двадцатых годов как в архитектуре, так и в мебели характерны точно такие же особенности, как и встречающиеся в более интересных и разнообразных композициях этого периода у Ле Корбюзье . В этой точке можно увидеть расхождение двух направлений современной архитектуры, при этом Ле Корбюзье и Р. Вентури выступают как представители одного из них, более широкого и гуманистического, работающего скорее в архитектурном, чем «дизайнерском» ключе.

This density results in excitement, bustle and sociability in the city center. While the resulting lifestyle can be very appealing, it can also produce a currently unmet desire to remove oneself to quieter surroundings for a different sort of relaxation. The current lack of diversity in housing options presents a market opportunity. The subject property should be positioned to capitalize on this need for a more peaceful setting while still offering proximity to the excitement of the city. We have observed this dynamic (and the success of developers that respond to it) in a number of established international resort destinations.
Translation - Ukrainian Переважний тип житлової забудівлі у Геленджику – це міські будинки «блочних квартир», розташовані поблизу центра міста. Така щільна забудова створює жвавий, активний та динамічний стиль центру міста. І хоча цей спосіб життя може видаватися дуже привабливим, він водночас викликатиме у когось бажання опинитися у спокійнішому середовищі та відпочивати по-іншому; і на сьогодні такі запити не вдовольняються. Недостатність вибору типів житла створює можливості для розвитку ринку. Об’єкти земельної власності мають бути розташовані так, щоб вигідно використати цю потребу у більш спокійному середовищі, пропонуючи при цьому місце недалеко від центру з його принадами. Ми вже спостерігали таку динаміку (як і успіх розробників, що пішли таким шляхом) у цілому ряді визнаних міжнародних курортних центрів.
