When I call up my profile page, it shows that I have Yahoo messenger, which I don't. It also doesn't list Skype, which I do have. When I go into the profile updater, there is no place to make this change. What should I do?

Hi Amy!
Note that you can remove Yahoo instant messenger from the 'Instant messaging' section of your profile in your 'Settings' tab.
As regards Skype as instant messenger, note that at the moment Skype is separate from the other IMs. You can add Skype to your profile by going to your Profile Updater, http://www.proz.com/?sp=quick_profile&eid_s= and editing the "Cont... See more Hi Amy!

I have the same problem. I have Yahoo listed on my profile even though I don't have a Yahoo IM account. Just as Amy, I couldn't find the settings anywhere on my profile.
But that's not the only problem. Early today, I tried to upload a CV and it took me 10 minutes. The Submit button didn't always work and after it did work, the page wasn't refreshed, so I ended up uploading my CV twice. To make matters worse, the Profile Updater is painfully slow is horribly cluttered with informati... See more I have the same problem. Hi Lucia, thanks for your suggestion, but I already went there, and Yahoo instant messenger isn't even listed.

In the Profile Updater under Contact Information, my Skype name is already listed, but it doesn't appear when I open my profile. As for setting my Skype account to "Allow my status to be shown on the web," my Skype account has no Tools option at all. So, I'm still stumped.

I removed the Yahoo instant messenger for you Claudia and Amy. Remember you can add your instant messengers any time you want (except for Skype) just by going to the 'Settings' tab in your profile and clicking on 'Instant messaging' from the list to the left.

Finally, Claudia, note that ProZ.com uses multiple webservers to handle user traffic. When you upload anything via the Profile updater page, it may take several minutes to become visible. Nevertheless, we are working to improve the profile updater and to make it even more user-friendly. Thanks for your feedback!

Hi Amy - were you also able to locate your Skype options?
The Tools option should be visible along the very top row of the rectangular panel where all your contacts will be listed.

Skype is a little different on Mac, but I was able to find that option under Skype>Preferences>Privacy.
Looks like I'm all set now.

I need idea about MSN Messenger.
Whenever I installed MSN Messenger, it had conflicts with many of my program: IE, MS Office, Trados, SDLX, DTP. Those program ran strangely or irregularly or slowly. I tried disabling auto-load of MSN Messenger at Windows startup. But it usually did auto-load when I was not aware.
When I uninstalled MSN Messenger, other applications ran normally.
Can anyone give me suggestions. Internet search gave me no helpful information.
