Dear fellow translators,
I'm working on my logo and would love to have your opinion about it.
You can see it on my website : http://lisedufour.wixsite.com/traduction.
What do you think? What does it evoke for you?
Any comment - positive or negative - is welcome!
Many thanks!!!

Honest opinion Sep 1, 2017

Looks like a porcupine or a hand with 6 fingers.
What is it supposed to be?

If you like I could ask my cousin to give a second opinion.

I've attached a couple of logo's he's designed before.
If you like his style, let me know, and I can get you in touch with him.

Best regards,
Nathanael Fourie

I kind of like it, but the bottom bit is too short.

My first impression is that it is a book. The fact that that book is being read from right to left didn't occur to me until I thought about it, so that's not a problem either. It's nice and simple.

It's more than just a book Sep 1, 2017

It's a book. But it's also a wing. Anything else?

I like it.

A book just opening, or a rising sun Sep 1, 2017

You could reverse it mirror-wise if you wanted to, but I am not sure it would be better. As it is, the movement goes 'forwards' from left to right.

If you do make any changes, keep the logo as simple as it is - it will still be effective as a tiny thumbnail, unlike so many more elaborate ones, which simply blur and disappear when the number of pixels is reduced.

Simple and effective! Sep 1, 2017

I like it too. My first thought was that it looked like a book, which makes it coherent with your translation business.
Because you kept it quite simple, it will always look fairly modern. It also evokes movement, which is always a good thing!

Looks like we have the same areas of interest. I wish you the best of luck!

Error 404 Sep 1, 2017

I can't see your logo. I tried and tried, but error 404 pops up. I would love to see it, but for some reason, it is not possible; I'll try later again.

It's because Proz doesn't know that the "." isn't a part of the URL, which is why I often leave a blank after URLs, even if grammatically incorrect.

Just remove the ".".

Thanks Thomas. I have seen it now and it looks nice but it reminds me a bit on Indians (American native ones); you know that feathery thing they wear on their heads?

Don't see the relation with translation.
Sorry, don't like it.

It doesn't work. I have no idea what it means, and it's black, which kills the other imagery on the page. If you press me, I'll say it suggests a black gloved hand a bit like this:

But only vaguely.

Typo Sep 3, 2017

Just noticed a typo at the end of the "POURQUOI MOI ?" section:
Les témoignages de mes client·e·s parlent d'eux-même > d'eux-mêmes

I don't really have an opinion about the logo itself - I think it could work - but to me what matters is more the overall composition/layout/color scheme of the webpage. I think there are too many different colors, and the black in the middle in the sky at the top spoils the nice ocean view and the other colors and contrast effects. I like the

I like the blue ocean background and the wind turbines. I think the brown in the middle is a little too strong.
