I'm not so used to Pro'z and it's fonctions yet, so I would appreciate your help. I hope I'm clear in my questions. decide whether it's PRO or NOT PRO. And for me personally, that's the biggest problem... As a result, I simply unsubscribed from all KudoZ, just not to lose my time anymore.
Daniela for your links, I'll have a look. It needs some time to know Pro'z, sorry If I ask some quesitions which have already been answered before

Hi Michaela I had this problem when I joined Proz. I think you are using a Yahoo account and that's the reason you don't receive Kudoz notifications on time. If you want this problem to be solved please use Gmail to receive the notifications shortly after a question is asked. Hope this helps Mohammad
No, I'm using a gmail account in Outlook on a laptop with Windows 7

However, any proz.com member can request to change this classification by voting for it, and if three proz.com members vote for this change, the classification gets changed, that is, from pro to non-pro or from non-pro to pro. However, I know of cases where this facility is misused to deny pro kudoz points to a rival translator. Kudoz points are a criterion used to rank translators in proz.com. However, it takes into account only the points earned for pro level questions. So a near rival alarmed by you approaching his level in the translator totem pole can try to get a kudoz question you have answered and which you are likely to win, marked as non-pro, thus depriving you of pro kudoz points. I think the pro/non-pro distinction is rather arbitrary and should be done away with. It will simplify the rules of kudoz and reduce the possibility of misuse of kudoz and unseemly and unfair competition among translators for climbing higher up the translator totem pole. | | | Would you mind submitting a support request? | Apr 26, 2013 |

As Daniela points out, you can set your KudoZ email notification preferences via http://www.proz.com/?sp=dashboard&sp_mode=kudoz . However, in order to look into this further, would you mind submitting a support request containing the link to at least 3 KudoZ questions for which you were not notified and that you believe you should have received a notification? This will help support staff to look into this further and make sure you are receiving all the notifications you want. You can submit a support request here: http://www.proz.com/support/ Thanks in advance. Kind regards, Lucia
