Tuesday, November 27th is being called "Giving Tuesday" by some, an opportunity to give to charity and otherwise help others.
To mark the occasion, ProZ.com announced that it would match donations made to Translator's without Borders' Fund a translator campaign.
Translators came forward to pledge donations, and together with ProZ.com's matching, 6,000 dollars was raised (funding for six translators for an entire year). Thank you to all who donated time, work, or money to this and other causes throughout the month, and all of 2012!

A new translation contest is underway. The theme of this contest is "Contemporary society", and source texts are currently available in English, French, Spanish, Basque, Bulgarian, Georgian and Indonesian. Submission will be open until January 3rd, 2013.
