Swedish term or phrase: närstående
The sentence goes: Mina närstående har förtroende för regeringen, bl.a. att de använder våra gemensamma resurser rättvist.

'Relatives' doesn't feel right, nor does 'the people close to me' - have seen the term 'significant others' but that too feels slightly awkward. Any ideas on how to make this flow are much appreciated! :)

Thanks!

Thanks - this one sums most of it up, although I prefer the slight tweak given by some responders of simply: those close to me, or, the people close to me! Thank you all for your help and input!

The word you choose will depend on how close they... do you have any idea?

Notes to answerer
Asker: They principally mean everyone 'close' to you - not just family, but friends, colleagues etc. It's essentially people you like and care for, whose opinion you would consider and think highly of...it's the term used in behavioural studies when looking at motivators of behaviour, i.e. what do my peers think. Although peers can also have negative connotations and does not include family....

Asker: I would probably lean more towards Anna's answer here - close people here means people who are close to you in an everyday context - the text is based on a behavioural study and talks about what motivates people to perform certain behaviours where so-called 'peer pressure' from the people close to us, people whose opinion we would consider plays a pivotal role. This does not mean just family but includes friends, colleagues etc. Associates would however not work, as this is a business context, the same goes for dependents.

agree  Stefan A. M. Adamek: My choice in this context...

agree  Charlesp: associates - not dependents, unless clearly so considering the context.

disagree  Anna Herbst: Two suggestions with very different meanings. Associates could possibly work in a business context, however, dependant has a completely different connotation.

-> I do agree they have quite different meanings, but associates works not only in a business context. However, as the asker has since noted, this is a highly specialised context - and none of these "ordinary" terms seem to apply!

immediate relationship circle

Explanation:
I thought this might meet the higher register of the text you're translating. Googling this as an exact phrase in inverted commas, it appears several times on medical journals and in the context of society and communities.

Example sentence(s):
  • Even in the more expansive bio-psychosocial model, safety-oriented systems thinking was missing, even though the roles of the patient’s immediate relationship circle and of the community and society were acknowledged
