When artists sing to recordings of their own music - we don't use "playback" like this in English, do we?

The word playback is used in English - but not in the same way as in Swedish.

In Swedish, phrases like \"uppträda playback\", \"sjunga playback\" etc. are used. There are virtually no English native-language Google hits for \"perform playback\" and \"sing playback\" - they are mostly European URLs, so I suspect this usage is Euro English. If you look at \"lip sync\" or \"lip synced\" on the other hand, you score a great many more native hits... I would like to see some authentic uses of \"playback\" with surrounding context to see how it is actually used.
