Bus/Financial - Insurance
Swedish term or phrase: äga fordran
This phrase comes from an explanation of an interdependency clause in an insurance contract.

"Att framställa krav å annans vägnar är emellertid något annat än att äga fordran."

Do we 'own' a claim in the context of insurance, or is another verb more appropriate here?

Thanks in advance,

Richard

being entitled to make a claim
Explanation:
Is the way I'd put it - as far as I've seen over a good few years, "äga" is another way of writing "äga rätt att".

have the rights of a named beneficiary

Explanation:
Looks to me like it is talking about a named beneficiary, so I would say it is "...have the rights of a named beneficiary." or something simular to this.
