The translation "group of stations" is dead wrong, it's a "station" that serves a "group" of wind turbines, not a "group of stations".

The word-by-word Google Translate style translation "group station" will not be understood by English speakers with little or no knowledge of Swedish.

I am simply going to go with the literal translation, "group station" (or "group of stations"). It could be many specific things, but if the author wrote a somewhat generic term, then perhaps best to go with that.

":o)" is not an explanation and you offer nothing to show that the idea of transformer station is meant here. Yes, the wind turbines may well be linked to a transformer station but to say 'transformer station' is to forget the wind turbines as transformer stations are found in all sorts of places where power is generated
The idea of 'group' to mean 'transformer' comes perhaps from a latin language. In French 'groupe électrogène' =generator
But as I said before, 'transformer' all alone doesn't take into account the wind turbines producing the electricity to be transformed. Bye

I came across the same document as Deane and it is a group of wind turbines together the exact number of which depends on size and so I assume output to some extent
It doesn't appear to be 'transformer station' based on the Swedish document in any case

This isn't an answer, but we know that power generating plants in UK US and Australia like to use the word 'station' to identify who they are. Wiki gives some history and leads at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_station. Then I googled 'wind farm station' and found some interesting reading that fits with the definition I found for 'gruppstation at http://www.vindlov.se/sv/Aktuellt/Nyheter-fran-Vindlov/Fran-... Why call it a 'station'? It's gotta be historical. Check it out! Pleasant reading! :-)
