bid / offer / quote Explanation: Th procurement process has many names for concepts that seem to depend on the complexity of the project involved and where you are in the world. But a 'tender' is usually seen as a 'call for bids' or sometimes a 'request for quotes (quotation)' by the entitiy doing the procurement. The response by vendors selling their service or goods is a 'bid', and sometimes they make an 'offer' or a 'quote' or 'quotation'.
