El último dígito se obtiene a través de cálculos matemáticos a partir de los demás dígitos. Este código contiene un pequeño menú y una función para validar el RUT viendo si el último dígito es correcto"

... penso l'equivalente italiano sia il Codice Fiscale.

Credo che l'equivalente per una ditta sarebbe la Partita IVA

Infatti, visto che il RUT puo identificare sia una persona sia una ditta ( http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rol_Único_Tributario ) credo l'equivalente giusto in italiano sia propio la PARTITA IVA.
