Ahora bien, en el Informe previo de la Comunidad Valenciana se recuerda que, si bien tanto el Estatuto de Autonomía como la Ley de Uso y Enseñanza del Valenciano establecen la existencia de municipios de predomino valenciano o castellano, para estudiosos ajenos a esta realidad tal afirmación puede dar lugar a confusión; ya que, de hecho, los municipios calificados como de predominio lingüístico castellano, utilizan en exclusiva –y no preferentemente– esta lengua, mientras que los que se sitúan al este de la frontera lingüística, aun siendo históricamente valencianoparlantes, no presentan todos un predominio de esta lengua.
