Spanish term or phrase: coca
I'm having trouble with cocas, I've found it in context in a few places but I still can't quite figure out what they are.

Se realizarán planos cartográficos que permitan ver su recorrido real, indicando los puntos donde se situarán empalmes, cocas, etc..

I still do not know what the client has chosen to use here, but although dictionaries show the other answer - it was not appropriate here. I believe the client will use coils.

kink / nip

Explanation:
According to the Diccionario para Ingenieros / Louis A. Robb, and Diccionario Ténico de Guy Malgorn

Kink is synonym for curl, twist and the latter of coil. I understand your concern. "Bend" could also be an option.
In my technical dictionaries "kink" appears as "coca de cable" and "coca" as kink.
from a site: http://www.fiberoptics4sale.com/Merchant2/fiber-optic-patch-...
Cautions for handling fiber optic patch cables

1. Bend radius:
2. Kink
3. Tie-wrap

I am sorry I could not be of more help.

Notes to answerer
Asker: I found kink and the like as well, do you really think its right in this context? Would you show cable "kinks" on a map that is the layout of a fibre optics network? could it be coils? Is kink really right in context?

Asker: And thanks for the help, it is really apreciated. I'm getting a little frustrated. Thanks.

neutral  JoLuGo: I think the term is related to the reserve cable length( usually in the form of extra turns ) located in a inspection point or bend
