map resources
Explanation:
"Fondo cartógrafico" will often be translated "Map collection", when it means a series of maps held in an archive or library:

"Perry-Castañeda Library Map Collection
The PCL Map Collection includes more than 250,000 maps, yet less than 20% of the collection is currently online."
http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/

I don't think it means a catalogue, which is a descriptive listing; it means the maps themselves. But although the precise context is not clear from the question, I'd be inclined to call it "map resources" here. The "fondo cartográfico" for surveying purposes is not so much a collection as a series of resources to be used to carry out a project:

"Identify map resources needed such as engineering surveys, USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle, soils, and road maps as well as aerial photography."
http://efotg.sc.egov.usda.gov//references/public/NM/397PDG-J...

"Cartographic resources" would not be incorrect, but I don't think "cartographic" would normally be used in this context.

agree  James A. Walsh: W h y i s t h i s q u e s t i o n so W I D E ? (least it is for me, as in, you have to scroll across loads to reach this field). Hard to know here, but my gut feeling goes with your suggestion, Lisa. Cheers ;-)
