SPAIN. I'd like to brainstorm this cycling metaphor, to see if anyone comes up with anything better than my own rather lukewarm effort, which for the moment I prefer to keep under my hat.

Maybe you could rephrase the sentence. "With this cycling initiative the association will help older people at risk of social exclusion whilst at the same time realise a sporting and personal dream." Something along those lines.

I'm sure that can be tweaked and improved, but something along those lines maybe?
