collectionism
Explanation:
'Collectionism' is probably correct for your context, given your explanation: " la afición por tener y guardar objetos antiguos"

I find references that support this meaning of 'collectionism' but it also looks like 'collectionism' may refer to a psychological or neurological syndrome which makes people collect objects compulsively. It seems to me that both meanings are valid.

" Is collectionism a diagnostic clue for Diogenes syndrome?...His collectionism was manifested with a tendency to store items in an organized manner but without a clear purpose."

collecting

Explanation:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collecting

The hobby of collecting includes seeking, locating, acquiring, organizing, cataloging, displaying, storing, and maintaining whatever items are of interest to the individual collector. Some collectors are generalists, accumulating merchandise, or stamps from all countries of the world. Others focus on a subtopic within their area of interest, perhaps 19th century postage stamps, milk bottle labels from Sussex, or Mongolian harnesses and tack...

Suerte!

disagree  Chris Ellison: I can find no trustworthy references, e.g. publications, which rule out the misuse of this word. It seems to be solely used as a psychological condition.
