wooden trough/trough Explanation: Artesa in spanish refers to a wooden recipient used to contain liquid or semi liquid materials. Usually used to prepare paste for bread, keep water for washing or washing items. Sometimes, also to feed animals. In old times it was a typical part of the "furniture" in houses. I never heard of being used to sleep but then, I now almost nothig of Santa Teresa. If the original text points out she used it to sleep it could only be for penitence purposes. |
