Spanish term or phrase: esmeril
En el afino de esféricos, la máquina de maneta manual, utilizando como abrasivo esmeril entrefino W-320.

I think this is not sandpaper, nor emery cloth, nor crocus cloth. Could it be grit?

lapping paste
Explanation:
See my answers to the subsequent "optics" questions from the same asker. I think we are talking about very fine abrasive in paste form, used for precision finishing. The W320 would be the measure of fineness. We used to call it lapping paste, and the process was "lapping" as we did the final high precision finishing by hand. I was a toolmaker at the time.

Here's a ref page on grits and their measurements (I was looking for "optics+abrasives"). The grits are all over the material:

medium-grit emery paper/cloth

Explanation:
'esmeril' is emery paper and 'grit' refers to its coarseness/fineness. You don't have to use the word 'grit' however -'medium emery paper' is ok.
You can also use 'cloth' instead of 'paper'. I presume 'entrefino' means 'medium' - I'm not entirely sure.

Your translation would be something like '... W-320 medium-grit emery paper/cloth'.

emery

Explanation:
I think that unfortunately you are facing a rather poor translation from English. Yes, "esmeril" is "emery" as long as they refer to the substance used as an abrasive (see definitions attached below).

"320" is the size of the grain of the grit (32 microns). That is a very fine grit, "extra fine" actually. The only thing that doesn´t make any sense in spanish is that capital W before the 320. Since it´s not a brand, one option is that the original said "w/320 grit", (just an abbreviation for "with"). The other option is that they meant "wet" on the original, but they are usually absolutely clear on that account and you should be able to tell from the context or ask your client (wet grinding is common in optics, particularly with 32 microns).

All in all, i´d go for "320 extra fine emery grit" and find out with the client whether it is dry or wet grinding. I enclose a link that explains some of the terms, you can check usage by a simple google search.

Good luck,
Rossana
p.d. I forgot to said that I wouldn´t use "sandpaper" or "cloth" anywhere since this machine probably has a cylinder or taper end.
