I have found no sign anywhere of the term "cavota" in Spanish, either in relation to jewellery or anything else. The only similar term I can discover anywhere, by looking in dictionaries of jewellery, is "calota". The corresponding term in English, taken from French, is calotte. It often means a type of cap, and indeed it can mean a watch cap:

Explanation:
This is a Catalan word, as Chris says (and it is misspelled, the proper spelling is "cabota"

The first meaning of this is "nail head" and this concept is the idea here, though they clearly do not refer to any nails, thus the term has been incorrectly chosen.

The word for this in Spanish is "recalcado", and its translation is "upsetting"
