Spanish term or phrase: Ponderación y elevación a las cifras del universo
I'm translating a report on a survey carried out in Spain for statistical analysis.

Context:
Equilibraje final de la Muestra por Áreas Nielsen proporcional a población (Ponderación y Elevación a las cifras del Universo).

My (poor) attempt:
Final proportional distribution of sample by population of Nielsen Areas (Weighting and ???).

Please help! Statistics is not my forte...

weighting and extrapolation to total population
Explanation:
Jeanette has explained in the discussion entries that the "universo" is the total adult population of Spain. So for example if 50% of the 1,000 people in your survey say they drive Norwegian cars, and the total population of Spain is 39 million, that extrapolates to 19.5 million people driving Norwegian cars.

And the weighting is an adjustment to make sure your sample reflects the structure of the total population. For example if only 40% of respondents are women, but 50% of the Spanish population is female, you would weight the results accordingly.

Example sentence(s):
  • There was an average of 0.91 dogs per household in Zimbabwe giving an extrapolated total population of 1,308,577 dogs.

Explanation:
Seems most natural. "Extrapolate" tends to be used in a slightly different context. "Raising to a power" would not be used.
