weighting and extrapolation to total population Explanation: Jeanette has explained in the discussion entries that the "universo" is the total adult population of Spain. So for example if 50% of the 1,000 people in your survey say they drive Norwegian cars, and the total population of Spain is 39 million, that extrapolates to 19.5 million people driving Norwegian cars. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 51 mins (2013-07-22 20:37:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- And the weighting is an adjustment to make sure your sample reflects the structure of the total population. For example if only 40% of respondents are women, but 50% of the Spanish population is female, you would weight the results accordingly. Example sentence(s):
