golden mean Explanation: The dictionary that I have translates "justo medio" as "golden mean". Golden mean as per definition in another dictionary is: 1. The proportional relation between two divisions of line or two dimension of a plane figure such that short : long :: long : (short + long). 2. The middle between extremes |

medium Explanation: "In his comments on the Elements, Albertus Magnus concluded that ... an angle was a relation because the angle was a 'medium' between a line and a surface" (Tummers, 1984) "Happy" sounds to me out of place in a mathematical description.. If I had to render "justo", I would say "is precisely the medium." -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 hrs (2008-02-12 14:36:55 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- The whole internet reference won't fit into the box below, so here it is in full: http://209.85.129.104/search?q=cache:KssvM918xOwJ:math.coe.u...
